I think they would sell so many of these!!! That is awesome. I really wanted a regular cab and still drool over them on TW but there were none in the area when i was ready to buy. I like the power of the V6 but IMO it really isnt needed and its a killer on MPG. I think a regular cab tacoma with a camper top is perfect.

Sleeping or napping at work would be the only thing. Since you can't put the seat all the way back

I had a regular cab previousl, and after I sold it, I toyed with the idea of an access cab or doublecab.. I even looked at them, test drove them, etc... and after doing so, I missed my regular cab.. the feel of it was just irreplaceable..

I feel your pain about storing items in the rain, or when doing an overnight stay, etc.. best advice I can say is to get a Tonneau cover!!

I am not enjoying my new regular cab, and the ONLY regret I had was even wasting my time contemplating an AC/DC lol

Yep, i love the reg cab.
I had storage concerns too, so I got a hard tri-fold tonneau and a pop n lock. So im all set with dry/secure storage. Got one of those cargo nets too, so small things dont fly all around the bed.

My first truck was a 89 reg cab s/10.i loved that truck not because my father bought it for me but because ,that thing could go anywhere.I had a 2009 4 door tacoma with the 4.0 sr5 4x4.i liked the truck, had it for 3 years.just could not manuever threw small trails and corners.she felt too long for me,excellent truck though.but when i got this 2012 reg.cab 4x4,yea i lost alot of horse, but thier is no place i cant go in this little truck.the turning radius, weight, and 4x4 on this truck just is hard to beat.that thing outperforms the big trucks in the sand and tight sections in the ranch.and when it sees mud ..lol.that little thing gets mean, its just so light that it glides over the sand in padre.these things are getting harder and harder to find.i have done some performance mods thanks to the info and all the great guys here in the forum.still reading and still learning.

Bringing back an old thread. I'm torn. I love the looks and ease of driving of regular cabs, but I'd like a 3rd seat (but hate the benches, so I have buckets), and I wish they offered power windows and locks. Yeah, less to go wrong, but my friends all hate on my lack of tech. Then when I tell them I paid double what they paid on their loaded Altima or whatever, they think I'm crazy lol. My next truck will likely be a fullsize. I still like single cabs but have you guys seen how much more storage the 2nd gen single cab Tundras have?! You can put a freakin dog or some 5 gallon buckets behind those seats! I don't need a ton of seats or anything, just a third. It'd be nice to go pick up a friend and not have to drive alone. Just the other day, my brother's truck broke down and I was at a Christmas party and wanted to take a friend with me to help, but couldn't in case I had to take my brother home with me.

I bought a 2014 Tacoma regular cab because I had heard that would be the last year for it. I like the fact that it is 18" shorter than the access cab.

Reg Cab, for me, all the way. I won't have anything else. Congrats those who like the longer cabs, get you one, I'm all for you. I'm just a little jealous cause you can get an AC, or DC equipped however you want it. & I can't even get a new RC. & for the last few yrs. they were available, they had very few options. It kind'f sucks, but I guess I'll just have to deal with it.

In terms of options, I had always wanted paint-matched fender flares...Until my mom backed her 2017 Impreza Sport into my front bumper corner this morning. I got away with scuffs, few broken clips, and a cracked plastic wheel cover...She broke a tail light, popped her bumper cover out, and scratched the crap out of the bumper cover and a little on the quarter panel of her car

See that's my ideal setup! This RC Taco is SO close to perfect...If only it had a reclining split bench and like 4-6" more room behind the seats. I have half a mind to throw the bottle jack in my toolbox just to squeeze a little extra room behind the seats. Man, I'm jealous. You got any pics of the outside?

If you looked around for a 4.6/4.7L powered 2WD RC Tundra you could get one for a low price. My old Tacoma had bucket seats and they could recline a little and I remember being able to fit some smaller bags behind the seats.

I had a 1993 T100 single cab (similar space to Tacoma behind seat). Mom had a 2005 reg cab Tacoma. I had a 2012 access cab. Out of all of them, I found the access cab extra space was useless. All depends on your life situation though - I'm a single guy, no kids. For me, a regular cab is perfect.

That said... I now have a 2013 Tundra Crewmax that has all the space in the world inside of it. Only reason I bought the Crewmax is because I sleep in the backseat when I go on overnight rock crawling trips. Otherwise I would have a regular cab Tundra too.

That's the problem, though. Here in Maine, trucks are EXPENSIVE. We're talking 2001 Cummins 4x4 trucks with rust holes in the rockers and 200k+ on the odometers for 10-15 GRAND. And I can't own a 2wd. We have had fwd sedans that couldn't make it up the driveway in the winter, even with a running start and traction control off...
On Autotrader, the closest 4x4 Reg cab 07+ tacoma is 130 miles away. Second closest is 280. There are no other ones within 300 miles. I don't even think there's one for sale in Maine right now. Guess that's what happens when you live in a state that gets everything 5 years after everyone else lol every new song to hit the radio doesn't gain traction here for a few months after every other state

I have no real need for a truck bigger than a regular cab so that is all I have owned. Here's a few of the most recent ones.

That red chevy looks mint, and your Tacoma setup is the exact goal for mine. Don't wanna lift too high (girlfriend and some friends said not to "try to make it look bigger than it is." They said the same about exhaust, "You should go louder than stock but not so loud it sounds like a sports car or bigger truck." I know I shouldn't base my mods on what other people like, but...I'm 21 and in college and I want my stuff to look good. At least I can admit that I'm easily peer-pressured
