Will the dealer we bought our truck from put them on for me? Does anyone know how much it should cost?

    Thanks you!

They would put them on, it depends if there are TPS sensors in them or not.

Just swapping them out you will probably pay the dealership labor rate per hour but it shouldn't take them an hour unless they are unmounting, swapping tires, balancing and remounting and relearning TPS sensors.

If those rims have TPS sensors and good tires, you would just be paying the dealership to swap them and relearn the TPS sensors

You could probably take it to any tiresplus or tirekingdom and they would mount them for not much at all.
On those wheels just so you know they are what is considered chrome clad wheels. Basically they adhear chrome plastic covers on the aluminum wheels.

    Kinda like costume jewerly!

My husband bought us the truck but I have to drive it. It was the right thing for us but I would like it better with shiny wheels. If your wife bought these wheels and put them on "our" truck would you be mad?

We went out looking for a CTS (that had very shiny wheels) and found the Tacoma. He liked the Tacoma. Guess who won. It's okay, he works hard so he deserves it. Anyway, the Tacoma is just like the CTS, only different

There's nothing wrong with those if you like them. they came on my truck for some reason as well and they hold up just fine. Kind of a pain to clean though because you can still see a little of the rim underneath in parts. That requires a rag to get to in order to get all the break dust. Have fun with your truck.

x2. Please note those are cheap plastic wheel covers and not chrome wheels(usually seen on Corollas and such)I would avoid taking to the dealer due to labor costs but find a local tire shop like Discount tire that can swap the tires for you. Keep in mind theres's a possibilty that you may need new TPMS if there's a difference in the wheels being swapped. DT can install and activate the TPMS for you.

Me personally if wanting to do chrome wheels I would just get a nice set of actual chrome wheels but if you are just wanting a factory look then these will do fine.

    Things I need to tow.
Just my opinion, but these are not "cheap plastic wheel covers" simply masquerading as chrome wheels. What none of the detractors are saying is that (1) aluminum wheels are extremely difficult to chrome plate in a lasting way and the manufacturers have gone to these to provide the appearance without the pealing that almost inevitably occurs with chrome plated aluminum wheels. (2) Wheels like these have been sold in the thousands by all the major manufacturers including GM, Ford and Chrysler who have fitted them all types of vehicles from economy cars to trucks. (They get slightly better respect on the GM, Ford and Chrysler forums than here, but they're generally still not held in high regard except by those that have to have OEM equipment throughout.)

That being said, there are a couple of things you need to know. The cladding is not a hub cap and is not (easily) removable or available as a separate replacement part. Therefore, if you hit a curb with them and damage the cladding, you have to replace the whole wheel. Next, the Toyota Limited version of these is an 18" wheel, so be sure you get the tires with them or you'll have to buy those too. (No other Tacoma comes with 18" wheels.) (3) The spare wheel on Limited's is one of these without the cladding, but still an 18" wheel.

If you like these, use them, enjoy them and ignore the detractors. Their appeal and "target audience" is not aimed at the off-roaders on either Tacoma's or any other make of vehicle.

There is a reason even high end cars dont have real chrome rims (Escalade, Range Rover, Corvette, the list goes on and on). Just to name a few, cost, weight and durability. So I guess dudes that drive around range rovers, corvettes and escalades are slapping themselves because corollas have them as well.

    I agree.

Our 2013 Durango "Citadel" has Chrome Clad wheels as well. I'm not a big fan of chrome, but prefer the options that come with the higher end package. My future Tacoma may end up being a Limited, due to the Heated Seats (even in Alabama), Auto-dimming Mirror and JBL as standard.

Chrome clad plastic is pretty much the standard now.

All plastic grills are the same way.

They make sense on wheels as well since most have corrosion issues being painted or chromed.

Real chrome require maintaining them, heavier, corrosion prone and higher cost. Most owners barely wash their vehicle so it makes sense from a warranty standpoint and mpg (rotating mass) standpoint to have plastic clad wheels.

Those limited wheels are worth what someone is willing to pay, most on here do not like chrome. Generally see them sell for 800-1200 depending on tire condition.

I do not like chrome personally.

    Yes, Yes I would.

Chrome Wheels suck. Fake chrome wheels suck worse.

OP, if you like them then that is all that matters. Some of us just wanted to inform you before you buy so you won't be surprised expecting 20" TSS tacoma chrome wheels but instead just plastic chrome hubcaps.

    Those are very pretty!

I don't mean to be dense but did somebody tell me what a TPMS is and I just missed it? It sounds like it is something else I should know about and that I might need.

Those are the TSS wheels and not the hubcaps like the pic in your post. I believe all 2nd gen have the TPMS system except for the '05's.(Glad I don't have it). Like stated above, shops like Discount tire can do the wheel / TPMS swap along with activating the TPMS for you. They also sell the TPMS's if your current ones won't fit on the new wheels due to the differences in the TPMS mounting angle of the new wheels.
