    Well this happened.... [IMG]

    because of this..... [IMG]

Any transmission experts on here? Im armed with a yotatech writeup and just jumping in here. Anyone have transmission specific tools I may need? Im not quite sure what is and isn't needed, as I haven't gotten too far into it. I have found another transmission, gonna have it checked out to make sure that the gears are good, and then its getting rebuilt with all new seals and bearings and going in. Oh, and my deadline is the 27th, because on the 28th I'm driving to fresno to go wheeling..... :D :D :D :D

Nasty picture of 4th gear . I can imagine the countershaft looks the same .
A little expensive to fix that mess up without the help of some good second hand donor parts .
Im no expert but looks like its been driven with bad bearings for a while or lagging the engine in fourth gear ??

Are you getting a new tranny or just tee building? I'd offer my help but I'll must likely be working this weekend, mine is on its way out also, would be good knowledge to see how you do it.

Im getting a new used one. And then its getting brand new bearings, seals, syncros, and gaskets. So basically I'm buying a case and a gear set.

Some of this Some of that
Pretty sure all i used to rebuild a manual tranny in school was a big shop press, a pillow block and detailed instructions. Snap ring pliers and such, no special tools like in an auto

Yea, I was lucky enough to actually not need to rebuild this one. It all looks great, bearings are smooth, syncros don't have much wear, so its getting new seals and gaskets and a coat of paint.
