I run 265's with 5100 set at 0 with 885 OME springs with no issues, set the front up about 2".

I do not have any pics yet, I just put the lift on a couple weeks ago and there is a ton of snow out there to take pictures.

First month of ownership... This month I'm removing front air dam, and also Rhino lining the bed.

I run BFG 265/75-R16 tires on stock rims. I may be biased but I think they look pretty good with a 3" OME lift.

Then I added a 1" body lift. I was unhappy with how close the tires were to the body and I drive in snow and run chains. Now I am super happy :)

Reading all of this is alot to take in, but im getting there. I have a 12 4door SB. I have a 3in lift on it now, I put 285 trail grapplers on and it fits but, i can tell there needs to be more clearance. Took it in to a mud hole and it handled very well. But, after gaining speed and taking some big ruts down, I noticed that they were rubbing inside the well more than I feel comfortable with. Am I able to put a 2-3'' body lift on with out spending alot on other mods? I want to put the body lift on and it not mess up anything. Please help

Hey man!!! Welcome to TW!!! I for sure am not the guy to answer specific questions regarding suspensions...but I am assuming anyone with experience will be wondering if you have done the cab mount chop and/or trimming inside your wheel well. That would definitely clear up some, if not all of the rubbing. It won't be long before someone with some expertise chimes in.

    Good Luck!!!

From what you've said probably your best bet is to do some cutting and trimming. Since you like the ride and handling.

I have a 1" body lift. They are very cost effective and simple to do. They really don't have any impact on the suspension beyond raising the center of gravity (which is bad and could increase rollover risks). Worse, the body lift can be hard on the body as it focuses all the weight and pressure onto limited surface points (so for aggressive off-roading it is not recommended). Also you'll have to put and extender on your steering shaft and adjust the radiator with some new brackets and also the front and rear bumpers (unless you don't mind the bumpers having a wide gap between the body). A lot of TW members scorn the body lift as one of the "seven deadly sins". But it has it's place...

I didn't have to do any of that beyond rehanging the radiator since I just did a 1" body lift. I spent around $60 on parts to do it and it took me about 3 hours with a pry bar and a torque wrench to install it.

For me it was the right solution to add to my 3" OME lift. I needed just a little more clearance and actually desired a gap between my bumpers and the body (my aftermarket steel bumpers were rubbing on the front quarter panels when off-roading). And I notice no difference in handling from before the body lift.

If I wanted to put a 3" lift on my 03 tacoma....would i need extended brake lines, a bushing kit (whatever that is..i'm new to this), an exhaust bracket, etc?

So far my shopping cart has 3" eibach springs, bilstein 5100's all around & a 2" AAL for the rear.

You might be better to post in the first gen section. I am new to lifts myself but from what I've read about 2nd gens you don't need those extras with only a three inch lift. However they might be beneficial depending on your application. Best to ask the first gen experts. Good luck.
