I think im gonna steer away from my idea of squeezing 305/60/18s in favor of 285/65/18s with Nitto Trail Grapplers on my soon-to-be Icon 3in lift ('08 Sport).
According to Nitto, the Trail Grappler runs wider than what a tire calculator will tell you (0.8in or so), so I guess it'll be a good balance between the played-out "285" and the 305 :)

So, anyone have pics of this size trail grappler on 3in???

These are Trail Grappler, but they are Terra Grapplers in 285/65/18 with a 2.50 5100 lift and 1/4" top plate spacers.

I'm not rubbing at all now and I still have the mud flaps on. I had to trim a good bit of the plastic splash shield close to the front bumper and had to trim about 1 1/2" from the end of the fender flare in the front. Also, I cut about a 2" section out of the mud flap where it was rubbing and the rear of the fender flare.

I am. I'd believe they aren't a true 285, they are just about the same size as the 33x12.5's on my jeep.

Cool....anymore pics that show a different angle or more light on the wheels/tires?

Yea Nitto's website says that their 285 Trail grapplers are 11.8 or 11.9in wide :)

I had 285/60/18 NTGs on the truck when I bought it used. The tire is supposedly 31.5x11.5 according to Nitto's site. 2.5 5100s with 1.5 AAL. It was trimmed when I got it but that because it wasn't lifted and the driver's side tire rubbed barely on the cab mount. Running GY Duratrac 275/75/18s now with the lift. 32x11, no rubbing after lift and proper alignment.

When I got it before lift with NTGs....

I'm running 285/70R17. I had some rubbing issues that I resolved now. Trimmed a little in the front fender and the front inside of the fender flare. I love the tires though.

I'm here for knowledge folks, please feel free to inform me. Expedition Essentials Track Mount Weather Tech floor liners and window vents K&N air filter Summit Dakars in Matte Bronze -25 offset King suspension from Filthy Motorsports MESO customs white/red interior lights and MESO customs gasshole
after you lifted it did you still have the 285/60r18 nitto terra grapplers on and did it rub the fender at all? trying to figure if I should lift it before I get the tires or if I can manage to get the tires first and lift it later..? Assuming I should lift it first. I'd really like to avoid as much trimming as possible.

Yes, the NTGs came on the truck unlifted. They barely rubbed on the cab mount before lift (only in reverse at full left or right) and none after the lift. The GY Duratracs were put on after lift and rubbed up front but those were 275/65/18, the NTGs were 285/60/18. I never had to trim cab mount, just had no flaps and then trimmed the front plastic box thing when switching to Duratracs.
