I know this has been gone over in a thread already for front bumpers but due to some lady parking her Mercedes in the back of my Tacoma I am now in the market for a new rear bumper.

Im on the fence about going with a high clearance because of the cutting and permanentness of it.
However i really like the look and functionality Especially because i have a base model with the black fenders.

Not looking to get a swing out attachment.

So am here to ask for some opinions and hopefully some photos of either bumpers on your truck.

    Thanks in advance!

    Just got some insurance estimates.
They seem to be pretty concerned with measuring the frame to make sure nothing is bent because the hitch impact.
with only 42k miles I think I might suck it up and let the shop take it apart to make sure nothing behind the bumper is toasted.
This might steer me away from the HC bumper and into just a standard Rear plate bumper.
    Time will tell...

Both are nice. Here's the Brute Force high clearance.

I've got the Armortech HC. It's a good bumper, I dig it.

I think it's a little higher than the Brute Force.

Wow both of those are nice. I plan on getting a HC soon because I have some trail damage that can't be pulled out (happens to be the section that will be cut away) if I cut that section off and mount a HC bumper..... problem solved!

Same thing just happened to me, took it in and got an estimate looking at 1200$+ for repairs using OEM parts. They didn't measure the frame which seems a little shady, so I am going to take it to a dealer to see if it needs any straightening. The guy did say if I did the work he would throw it on the machine to make sure it was straight for me.

Lady hit me doing 25+ mph no breaks I basically stopped her! bumper is fked and hitch took all the damage! it shifted the hitch apporx 1/8" forward. The truck drives straight no wobble or pulling so I would imagine at the very most it was tweaked a bit very best no damage.

How fast was she going btw?

Yep thats about the same I got quoted. My quotes were 1,200 - 1,900.
I believe she was going 20-25, she said she was hard on the brakes but they were not "working." I think she hit the brakes hard and late so the Anti-Lock system kicked in and stopped them from slowing her down as much

It would be interesting to see how you would have fared if you already had the plate bumper.

I plan on getting ken by this spring just as moron insurance. Lol

I'm in this boat. Rear ended. Frame is slightly tweaked but not bad. Estimate was $1, 800 so that's what I will get from his insurance. Decisions decisions. It will be a high clearance though
