    Guys,
just a quick question for those who are running the 285's with stock 16" wheels. With a 3" lift, are wheel spacers necessary? Understanding there may or will be trimming. Stick with 265's or move to 285's? Issues with 285's on stock 16" wheels? Opinions?

I'm going to get tires this weekend so I need to know if I should get the spacers as well.

    Thanks guys

x2. Look into 1.25" hub centric spacers like spidertrax along with some plastic trimming.

They will definately rub; I have the 3" Toytec lift w/1.25" wheel spacers all around and my rubbing problem went away with my 285/75R16's. No trimming required. I would highly recommend getting wheel spacers for all 4 wheels (Spidertrax comes in sets of 2), looks funky with just the front ones having spacers.

Yeah, I would get 4 all around. If you're wrapping these on stock 16" wheels, and using 1.25 spacers, how far out do the wheels stick from the fender? PA is bad when it comes to tires sticking out far! Pics?

It's not very far, perhaps 1 1/2" max near the bottoms of the fenders and almost flush at the top. Will have to take some pics when I get home.

And you will definately have to remove your front mud flaps.

2.5' Fabtech Suspension lift. 285/75/16 Cooper STT's New headlights Surefire mount with Quick Fist Shrockworks bumper-3 wks out on delivery Light Force 240 Blitz arriving today
I am looking into spacers as well. I'm running 285/75/16 Cooper STT's with a 2.5 inch lift. I was/am also concerned with the amount of tire that comes out from the fender. I'm thinking the Spidertrax 1.25" will work to correct the rubbing issues I have with my uca's and frame. Here is my truck before spacers.

If you do 285's with 17" wheels and the 2.5" lift do you still need the spacers? Are the spacers only necessary with the 16" wheels?

Also, if the rims already had 4.5-4.75" backspacing would you need the spacers still?

I needed spacers with my 265's on 17-inch rims; so, yes, you will need them with 285's. And if I recall correctly, the oem wheel studs were on the short side; so, I installed longer studs that ended up protruding about 3/8 from the wheel adapter. Lucky for me, my oem wheels have holes to 'swallow' the tips of the studs. http://www.wheeladapter.com/wheel_studs.php
