I am wanting to build a baja or tube bumper for my taco. I have been trying to find some plans or designs on how to fab one up. Does anyone know where to find some blueprints?

I don't have any plans to blue prints, but I do know that building in tube is pretty easy, if you have the tools. I just mocked up an idea and went with it. If you want, you can buy some pvc and mock up a bumper that way too. In the end, it might be cool to have something you designed yourself! If you want ideas, you can look on the first page of my build thread. I detailed the basic steps I used for building mine. If you have any specific questions, feel free to ask!

Since there was some interest, here's a couple pics of my front bumper.

Personally for me the best way to start would be from the mounting spot. I know I didn't make my allpro bumper but if any one needs pictures of how it's mounted let me know.
Haven't seen many custom tube bumpers id say lumpskie's is probably the best one I've seen so far.

Here's some pics of the bumper I fabbed for my 04 taco from .095 DOM. The bumper can be unbolted from the truck using the some factory mount points, but I also welded some extra supports on the lower K - Member to add impact support and rigidity when off-roading. Also has an aluminum skid plate if you're wondering.

Yea that was the main factor that I kept in mind while making the bumper was to keep the lower valence in tacked on the truck. I just bent the tube to follow the shape of it and it came out really nice, even once you get it all powder coated. A good tip when you want to cap the end of the tubes is to use old style freeze plugs. They cover up the tube with a convex look and if you are good at tig or mig welding the bead can really add some style!

Just keep in mind of what you are going to do with your blinkers, and most importantly where you are going to put them. First off, I got some cheap LED blinkers from Amazon and mounted them on to the bumper inside the triangle shape on the front of the bumper but after not even 2 weeks of use one of the mounts broke (because it was plastic lol). After that, I ordered some dual filament bulbs and decided to relocate my blinkers to the corner piece on the headlight assembly. A lot of people have been doping it recently, and it comes out really clean! If you look on TW there are some really good write ups under "blinker re-location mod" to help you out with any direction. Now i have three 7" HID's on the bumper, with 2 3x3" LED Pods that I got from www.digidiodes.com for around $100. They occupy the space where my blinkers used to be and they work insanely good for flooding the corners of a road!

Plenty of light to go down the road but i'm lacking a decent flood light, so i'm saving up for a 40" LED bar from www.truxtech.com to put on the roof, and then lighting should be well taken care of!
