I've been noticing this gunk in the pcv line that come from the valve cover to the intake manifold. I'm pretty sure its excessive because ive never seen it before. My questions are what caused it and how do I clean it? I have 2000 Tacoma 2rz 4 port with dual cat(no egr). The truck has 187k miles.

Is there a way to eliminate the system entirely? I've seen people put breathers on 99s and below but not on my motor

    Intake, exhaust, lift. Typical stuff.
Clean your intake out. To keep it from getting bad, catch can works but you can also clean the PVC valve with some some gunk cleaner to keep it working correctly.

Since I've owned the truck I've never changed out the pcv valve and I can pull off the hose without pinching the clips. How can I tell if its still working? I know how to do it on a 99 and below.

Do you have any product in mind? I have some CRC throttle body cleaner could I spray it in the intake manifold?
