How about EWK Extreme West Kansas?

good to know... yeah I'd heard a lot about Engineer pass, and other than this trip hadn't heard much about cinnamon... wonder what it'd do to the time table

    Thanks!

Engineer took a little bit longer when I did it. It's a little bit longer, but not much and the last few miles you could burn rubber on if you wanted to as it's just a gravel road for the last bit before it dumps you off right in the middle of Lake City. Time table wise, negligible. A motorcycle would have a tougher time on engineer and that's probably why the route originally takes cinnamon.

Won't be able to. Labor day weekend is my birthday and the wife wants to do something to celebrate me moving up to the next decade, haha (30).

That and I don't trust my beater enough to take it on that type of trip.

I'd love to, just don't have the time.

Going to be doing a ton of maintenance on it next month, but I wouldn't drop a dime in upgrading this thing to take it on trails. Currently saving the pennies for a 3rd gen to SAS.

Yeah I know how that goes

I want a 1st gen Runner to build (SAS if needed) my all time favorite Toyota... though I'd have to do a motor swap too... needs a 3.4 or bigger :D

    That's the exact reason I want a 3rd gen.

Hanging lake is only like a mile out and a mile back but it's a must hike if you've never done it. Mount rosa is a fun one too

Yeah the world is full of ass hats. There are plenty of signs that state "do not touch the water" due to the delicate balance of the blue color... yet every is putting their feet and hands in the water. They are either ass hats or there are a lot more illiterate people in the world then I thought.

Yeah but that's south of me... I'm at E470 and 70... where Colfax begins... or ends depending on your direction

Oh hell you are in West Kansas!

A known fact - Colfax is the longest, continuous running thoroughfare in the US. I have always wanted to start on one end and drive it all the way to the mountains just to see how long it takes. :)

I hate that! I have not done it for a while because you can't take dogs up it so I see no need to hike it again. I like to take my dogs when hiking sink find other places. Rules are rules, bit it's worth the hike.
