    What are the dimensions of a 2011-14 tacoma, access cab 4WD's leaf spring?

    What I mean is overall length, and the distance from the center of the spring to the front shackle and the distance from the center of the spring to the rear shackles.

    The reason why I am asking is because I plan to put on narrower leafs, looking at overall lengths between 42-46 inches on a second generation 4wd.

    I am trying to get a shorter spring so that I can cut more frame behind the rear spring leaf spring shackles to increase approach and departure angles.

    I would like to have a custom spring that has the following specs
    Width = 2-3/8
    # of Leaves = 4(3/1)
    Measures (A/B) = 21 x 21
    Pack Thickness = 1-7/8
    Bushings Included
    Sold Per Side

    basically a 42 inch spring. A stock second gen has a 54 inch spring.

    Is it possible to put in narrower 66-77 Ford Bronco leaf springs on a second gen Tacoma? I am not into the whole thing on flexing, but I am looking for narrower leafs so that I can cut more frame behind the rear leaf spring shackles to improve approach/departure angles.

    The narrower Ford Bronco leafs are 21-24 inch from center to front shackle and 21-24 inch from center to rear shackle.

    Also, I understand that the stock second gen leafs are 27.5 inch from both center to rear and front shackles.

    What is your advice on this? Can this be done.

    would shorter leaf springs increase the chances of axle wrap?

    No, axle wrap is caused by the spring being too soft.

    Sure, you'll probably have to move the shackle towards the front of the truck, and where the leafs mount to the frame towards the back of the truck.
    And you might have to change the diameter of the bushings in the leafs.
