For you guys that have installed these... did you notice that the beam pattern is any different than stock? I know with standard HID bulbs the filament (or electrical arc rather) is positioned differently than an incandescent bulb so the beam pattern is erratic (and illegal). If these maintain the same patten... that's great! I'd love to throw them in.

 

well i don't know if the pattern is different. I do know that it does shine higher, so i may have to adjust it. But here in Hawaii, HIDs are illegal no matter what pattern of light it projects.

 

what would be the brightes hids out there. what does the number mean????

 

The number is just the color of the light. I've had 4500k in the past and was very satisfied with the whiteness. It's very slightly blue. I didn't want something that looked purple or out of place... since the car didn't come with HIDs if there was a blue light coming out of the headlights it was obviously a mod. I figured if I went with bright white it might actually look factory. 6000k would probably be ok too, but I wouln't go any higher than that, personally. HIDs are usually at least twice as bright as their incandecent friends so brightness isn't usually a problem there.
