Thanks Tex. I have a pair of stocks too. With the airbags I need a longer one so I don't have to remove the bags.

Since I already had 5100 shocks with the stock coils. So I got the ToyTech coil over kit to replace the coils using the existing 5100 shocks. My local shop was trying to put them together and the c-clip that snaps around the shock body folded over when they let the compressor tension off. So now I am hosed. cant put the new parts on and cant put the old ones back together. I am near Harrisburg and have no idea who in the state would either have the c-clips or new shocks (with the clips). Bilstein told me the number on the clip is 25-22880 and I found a retailer in CA that has them. So can do overnight to get them Wednesday if I have no other options. Of course this is my daily driver for work and hauling kids.
    Any ideas?

Order them from California as the time zone difference will get them out today. Call your auto insurance to see if you have vehicle rental on your policy and explain that yours is in for maintenance and you have to wait for parts. See if there are used stock 5100's on the local craigslist, or call a junk yard to see if they have any Tacos for parts.
That all the ideas that I have at the moment.

Sounds like the spring cup was installed upside down. The design of it is to prevent the retaining ring from doing this. So who ever installed it is responsible for the repair. You can find retaining rings on the Grainger site, and pick them up locally. You may be able to find them at Fastenal or a local hardware retailer. You would just need to either measure the other retaining ring, or measure the groove in the strut body. Here is a link to spiral retaining rings on Grainger, which is about the closest thing to the Bilstein retaining ring http://www.grainger.com/search/reta...teners/ecatalog/N-8meZ1z0wd4b?_=1396931449291 . Hope this helps, and good luck.

Those are all excellent ideas. Thanks for the support.
I ended up ordering what should be the right parts from Bilstein distributor. Should be here in a day or two. I don't have the time or the transportation to run around looking for something that might work. so hopefully this works.
The new setup doesn't use that stock cup for a spring perch. It has a much larger machined piece with a shoulder on the inside that seats on the clip. The only thing I can guess is they didn't have the clip seated right or the adjuster sleeve was crooked when the tension hit it. whatever, it trashed the adjuster and then they had to beat it off the shock. what a bunch of hacks.
I was hoping to go to RC this weekend. We'll see.

Wish I could grab these but don't want to cut up the truck too much.

I'm looking for the 285/75/16 KM2s, anyone in Pittsburgh know the best place to get tires? I was planning to get them at Costco but apparently they dropped BFG a few months back.

It wouldn't work anyway, second GEN Tacoma's cannot fit a 15 inch wheel.

The same shit everyone else has.
    Anyone going fishing Saturday?

Ive been pricing out tires as I wanna jump up to 285s as well. I always ordered the Toyos for my VW from tires-easy or treadepot or discounttiredirect. Discounttiredirect as free shipping which is nice.

Ive been watching Duratracs on there, and they are under 900$ right now.
