    hello ALL,
I have a radiator with a crack in the plastic tank at the top of the radiator. Since the radiator cant hold pressure what effects if any will this have on emission sensors? As I understand it, without holding pressure the coolant now can boil? what yah think? thanks in advance...:)

Well off the top of my head I'd say FIX or REPLACE your radiator, if ya don't you're going to have bigger problems than passing smog, like maybe overheat & blow a gasket crack a head....:confused:

I had the exact same crack and didn't have it patched and still passed emissions if that's what you meant? I patched it for a good 3-4 months before just buying a new one

I have a small crack I'm mine where the hose gose in the top of it. It don't leak fast but it stays wet on the crack. I don't think I could pass because I have wore rings and blue smoke pores out.

yah, thanks all! I do have one on order after the marine epoxy that was holding for a while let loose, I was just curious if it would cause emissions failure cuz I failed smog when I took it in with the leak. didn't know if the higher heat would effect anything even though I always made sure to keep the radiator coolant topped off, and the dummy dash gauge never moved higher than half way. thanks again compadres!

Thanks Todd, I live to hunt, fish. Yeah pink milk shake happens with auto trans some times. It's when trans fluid and antifreeze mix in radiator and turns pink. One thing we dont have to worry about with manuals. Here is what I'm getting ready to go do today. [IMG] Lucked into 2 bearded turkey yesterday morn.

I didn't see that you were 5 speed i'm jelly. If something like that happens you don't want it busting your balls while you're out in the desert or something

Yeah our tacoma engines don't like getting too hot. That's when bad things happen.

Also just noticed you're in ca. leave it to this state to tie the radiator into the emissions system, beyond stupid...

Hey Todd, guess we are lucky to have so many tasty critters running around here. I live about 60 miles from Washington D.C. at base of blue ridge mountains. Lots of animals pushed into area due to progress in northern va. I have lived in va. for my whole life. Hardest part is getting permission on private property. Yeah hunting and fishing is the way I live. Our tacos get us back in there. Went mushroom hunting and saw a 450-500 lb black bear yesterday afternoon! We got some giant s around here. Here's my take on life. If you yearn to do something in life, do it now or asap. Don't wait cause the door might shut on you before you get there. Seen to many work their asses off and got to old to do things they had dreamed of. Not me! We aren't on this earth to long these days. Later Todd!
