Powder coated rims w/ BFG tires

Well, I finally got around to getting my rims powder coated black and having a new set of BF Goodrich AT tires mounted. I went with the satin black powder and satin clear coat on the wheels. The tires are All Terrain KO's in size 265/75/16. I really like the look of the chrome lug nuts and no center caps so that is how she is staying.

dude that looks insane!!!! makes me wish i would have done up my stocks like that!!...IMHO loose the mudflaps and it would be damn near flawless

I was just talking about going back to stock wheels and painting them black. Not into the shiny look so i'm gona go flat black, but they look nice anyways! you should get some black lugs

 

Thanks for the comments, guys! It's weird about the wheels having a gloss to them because the powder coat sample was definately a satin. In fact, the wheels do look much more satin than gloss until they get into direct sunlight. Oh well, looks good enough for me and I'm just glad to get this project accomplished!

I also considered removing the mud flaps, but they do such a good job of keeping rock chips and other blemishes off the paint that I just can't bring myself to lose them. And I really don't mind the way they look - just more utilitarian in my eyes.

Looks great! Can I ask: What did it run you to have the wheels powder coated? Did you have to prep them or did the shop handle everything?

 

Ha Ha. Wish I had those tires but the wheels look great!

 

The cost "out-the-door" for all four wheels was $180. The shop I used did all of the prep work and even taped-off the lug nut holes so they wouldn't get filled in with powder. All things considered I thought $180 was a great deal!

That is indeed a great price! I work in the metal fab industry and the powder coaters we deal with usually charge $50 not including prepwork per wheel (off the street customers of course... we get buku discount)
