Lol Ben, I was just thinking about how little I've been caring for my face ever since I lopped off the 10" goat, and started going back to school. I use my beard trimmer with no guard, 2x a week just to keep the itch factor down. Lolz

When I get my hair cut my barber uses a straight razor to shave my face, minus the stache. He's an old chap.

I've been rocking a beard for about 1.5 yr now. I bought a beard trimmer to keep it in check, otherwise it gets to be a little too much to handle. Still use the DE for trimming.

20 years Navy = no beard. 7 years LE = no beard.

27 years shaving all the time. I give my face a break on my days off.

I've been using edge gel and a mach 3 for years. Works. I tried to use the safety razor with the badger brush and stuff and just carved the shit out of my face. It's much more complicated than using a disposable and after 1 shave I was not willing to subject my face to the pain it would take for me to master that art.

I finally got tired of paying the insane prices for the Mach 3 and sick of being pushed to the fusion.

I did some research and found the company who supplies the razors for dollar shave club. http://www.dorcousa.com These razors are just as good as the Mach 3 and cost about 1/3 the price. I actually bought the trial pack which came with 4 of each type of head and am loving it so far.

The dollar shave club, in my opinion, is a waste of money. They force you to buy X amount of blades per month. Instead, I buy from the company that makes the razors for dollar shave club

The handles and heads are unique in that they don't fit any other brands. So the Dorco handles fit all Dorco blades but do not fit anything else. The dollar shave club has their own handle/blade mating system.

Dang didn't know there was a thread for this on TW!

    I've been using this razor:
    http://www.amazon.com/Edwin-Jagger-...879&sr=1-3&keywords=edwin+jagger+safety+razor

    with these blades:
    http://www.amazon.com/Feather-Hi-St...98733947&sr=1-1&keywords=feather+razor+blades

for the past 4 years... much faster and smoother shave than anything electric for me. I dont even need lather if my beard is good and warm/wet. I dabbled in a straight razor for a while but grew tired of strops and keeping it sharp...

    Here's a pic of my setup i took a while back :D

I am shooting for a 3 month beard before I go back to a short beard. 2 months in and I was so close to chopping it off this past weekend.

Where can I find beard oil? My facial hair is so coarse and my beard skin is dry. I can pretty much scuff metal with this thing.

I got my beard oil from Amazon. Tons of different things to choose from and its nice to see the reviews before buying. This is what Ive been using for about a month now. It definetly made my beard softer

Here's one of my regular setups... If I don't have time to use the straight I use my Gillette Adjustable Double Edge with a Feather blade...

I've used electrics and cartridge razors and using the straights or double edge are by far the most comfortable shaves I've had...

I shaved my beard clean last Tuesday for a job interview. Got to the interview and most people including the people doing the interviewing had facial hair...haha

My face felt so cold and exposed. Growing it back out now with no plans to shave for a long time (other than keep the cheeks and neck trimmed).

anyone have good recommendations for beard conditioner or oil? my beard is a couple inches long and it's pretty coarse and looks kinda frazzled. i have a thick beard, not patchy or anything. wondering if i can soften it up a little haha.

**nevermind, was recommended Natural Man Beard Oil by a friend - think it's exactly what i need. anyone use it?
