This may start a flurry of debate but here goes............. Was introduced to Collinte when doing some show cars back in the mid-70's. Over the years I have tried many of the premium brands & keep going back to the Collinite. Both their #476 Super Doublecoat paste and their #885 Fleetwax are my favorites. The #885 Fleetwax is aeronautical/marine that I have had wonderful results with. I have not found anything that beats it for protection especially against winter salt & grime. water sheets off or beads up for months. Both are kinda hard to find in stores so I order it directly from their website. They go into a lot of detail on their offerings there. The key I have found with this wax is use it very sparingly. It goes on super easy & comes off the same. I use so little I have to look close to see where applied. Protects just as well, super shine, & a can lasts forever. That's my take

Yes. I use the california blade on my black truck and get the rest of the water off with a white cotton towel. And I get more swirls from the towel, but I try to use very light pressure using both.

The silicone blade will not scratch if A) the surface is clean and B) there is water present

A drying aid, like a quick detailer, spritzed on the panel, and wipe down with a waffle weave from Adam's car care. Also use the master blaster sidekick when I get a chance.

Master blaster! I used to use the water blade/microfiber towel, but ever since I bought the master blaster, I am never going back. Super fast and easy. Also like it that I can knock all the water out of crevices that the microfiber could not get, which helps for waxing faster, as well as no "water runs" the next morning.

They won't touch my black paint! I'm sure others will say they are fine but I don't skimp on paint safe towels. They are fine for interior and general use in my opinion.

Yeah I heard mix reviews on those. What towels do you use on your paint? I was thinking maybe chemical guys would be alright.

Microfiber Madness and Cobra branded towels mostly. It's worth the piece of mind to me.

If your looking for something at a lower price point I wouldn't hesitate to use
    http://www.microfibertech.com/microfiber-for-car-care-auto-detailing.html

Many people love them! It's not that hard to reach their minimum.
