If that is a custom ordered truck it's a good deal. The reality is that tacomas don't have a lot of markup on them, There is 4% dealer holdback (basically their profit if they sell it to you at "invoice") and only 2500-3000$ depending on how the truck is ordered in profit (this actually goes DOWN as the truck gets more expensive)

I'd say it's a good deal, not necessarily great - I could put you in touch with a buddy of mine here in San Antonio that would get you the best deal possible but you'd have to come to texas to get it ;)

I guess my point is if you WANT that truck, 2k off sticker is not a bad deal because even if they sell it to you at PURE cost and make 0$ you wouldn' tget MUCH more off than that. it could probably be better but not by thousands or anything.

Also keep in mind tacomas regularly (especially down here in texas) sell for damn near sticker and are rarely if ever sitting on the lots.

Thanks ZMW. I've been eyeing this truck for a while... lots of research... pretty much narrowed it down to this configuration... looked online at every dealer in 100 mile radius.. can't find one... Ordering is the only way... unless I want to settle for less... which if I'm spending $32,000... getting exactly what i want!!!

Chubrok: That's how i ended up feeling about it, I couldn't find what I wanted so I ended up ordering it...

I Started out wanting a pyrite offroad 4x4 - but for whatever reason our region doesn't order trucks with nav, they all had the base audio system, I Wanted the nav and jbl, but for me to get nav and jbl in this area I had to get a TX pro baja truck - so I started looking at those....

Like you I did a ton of research, and I ended up ordering a Barcelona red Baja truck with no graphics and with the JBL, I felt like if I was going to spend the money get exactly what I wanted, besides, after buying fully loaded diesels for the past 4 years, even a supercharged baja truck looks cheap comparatively ;)

absolutely false... Or if a dealer is telling you that he's just being a douche. You can order a new unassembled truck today, it takes 6-8 weeks.

There is your problem you are buying it from a Dealer. Dealer or used car lot is always gonna stick it to ya and should never be trusted. Find you a truck being sold by owner/individual who is just looking to get rid of his truck there are some out there you just have to look for a while, try craigslist.

Well. The trigger has been pulled... I placed the order this evening. Tried to get more $ off but they didn't budge.

Congrats on the purchase! Forget about the process and the incidental costs and enjoy your new truck - just in time for summer!

This what our local dealer did to my cousin. Agreed on invoice but when the truck arrived, dealer added Toyota Dealer Advertisement fee (TDA) under invoice price.
