I hate my hood scoop

I live in Vegas and bought a 2013 Tacoma with a hood scoop and at certain times during the day, the sun beams right off the edge of the hood scoop right into your eyes and nothings blocks it out unless you put something on your dash to block it. My 2003 Tacoma didn't have a hood scoop so I didn't know this woudl be an issue. Anyone else with this problem? Looking to paint it flat black to keep it from reflecting.

If that's spruce mica there are tons of us that want them, its an uncommon color

might as well make $ out of it. And if you're willing to paint it black, then you can trade with anyone since you don't have to worry about a color match. Or better yet, find someone with a black hood

Buy a scewpless hood

 

I get glare off my scoopless hood at the end of the day.

 

But what about all of the horse power you will loose by removing the SKEWP...

Be forewarned that you can expect a 25hp loss with the loss of the scooped hood.

 

I get the glare in the morning. It is a thing. Mine came with the scoop. I would prefer not having it, but, it's not enough of a big deal for me to trade or replace it.

BTW to OP you'll get glare everywhere from other cars and trucks rear windows so mind as well gear up properly for the road.
