I put pics up. Notice the green where the wire used to be. 4 inches back from impact sensor rh. Inside engine compartment taped up on factory wire loom. 2010 tacoma 66666 miles

Technics all info. Circuit suppose to be 1 ohm or less for leg or right side. Was at .5 for black wire. 2.1M. AS IN MILLION. for left side

With sensor in it rings out at 229-231 k.

Looks as if it was pinched and the insulation and wire were damaged.

The wire was nicked. Insulation gone. Copper turned to powder. Circuit is open. They will not sell me the connector. Some said they would probably replace the harness. My ass! Solder and splice will be just fine.

The front of the loom is wide open. There was sand and dirt probably salt in there. Throw in voltage and it's the perfect corrosive process. It was a pretty easy diag. Just swapped the front sensor with the other side same fault. Out a meter on it and used blow dryer. Resistance was climbing without heat on wire. When I was near the break. The resistance started to level of and then started dropping. You can see where the break was so I new I was close. Initial resistance was 3.1 M. climbed as high as 4.2 M. With blow dryer on it it dropped to 2.1 M. I moved the connector and then the tone dropped off. I checked the through abs plug under console. Two black two white. 1 LH. 1 RH. BLACk white. Bottom left looking wire side of connector. Two sewing needle as probes. Worked very well.
Dealer would have replaced sensor the. Module. And the broken wire. I figure around 1200 all said and done.
The sensors resistan throug harness. 229k and 231k. Didn't read center. This is a 2010 tacoma 66666 miles. Go figure

Do you have any idea when the wire was pinched? Or how? I see you blame Toyota, or it sounds like you are. How is this an issue with them? The loom was packed with sand salt dirt and the insulation was compromised. You don't know where or when the wire was damaged... or do you?

Well. It sits inside the engine compartment. Secondly the loom wasn't per say packed but there was moisture. Few grains of sand. How else did the wire get damaged. You tell me. Frames are rotting out. Is that toyotas fault? Spiral cables are breaking? Toyotas fault. 4 years of weber exposure. Every other wire under the hood seems fine. This one tiny minuscule spot on the insulation mysteriously damaged. The loom that it sat in was in perfectly fine. Mystery or factory workmanship.
Things warrenties on my truck so far. Four cabin air motors. Propellor shaft. Dash air plenum. Steering shaft window motor. Oil pan flange cracked. Who caused those ? It's. Called workmanship and this wire. Nothing else has been damaged anywhere else without tell take signs elsewhere like on the loom. Maybe some one pulled of the nail board and caught on a nail. Pulling it through he dash. Warrenty. That's that

You obviously have the skills to repair it, so fix it. You wouldn't be on this site if you didn't like taking care of your own truck, so I don't have much sympathy for you. You also know that in any system, electrical is always the weakest link.

On the plus side, in the future when someone has an air bag code pop up, when they do a solution search, your posts will pop up. So in short, thank you for posting.

Additionally, if you need a connector, post a good pic. People are parting out Tacomas all the time, including me.

Well it's fixed. Light out on its own. The 60000 miles should apply it was a workmanship issue. That's that whew!

As for the connector. I will post a pick any help would be appreciated. Dealer said 1400 for just the harness. And the the labor. It is a three piece block. I just need the block with the most pins. But that's not going to happen.

Is both wires corroded? The one looks like clean copper. Can't tell with the longer one. soldering iron and some shrink tubing and you will be better than new.

I ended brushing off pins on module. After that j had .6 ohms. Computer like that. Before was .9 at the plug. Specs called for a 1 ohm or less spec. I had .9. That's when I brushed of the pine and te soldered one joint. The black wire had a bad spot too. All good for now

And the clean copper was due to the amount I had to cut out. About 2.5 inches. I then sand it.
