I wouldn't go off looks to much; between the sr5 and offroad they look very similar especially if modded. I would have gotten a sport if I found one in my price range but wasn't willing to put in that extra 3k+.

SR5 was exactly what I wanted. I just didn't need any of the features from the TRD packages, and I actually DIS-like the body-color grille and the sport scoop.

I'm baffled by the people saying you should get TRD or 4x4 for the "resale value". What a terrible investment! Pay $thousands extra now for something you don't need or want, and get less than $thousands back when you sell it. If you're not buying it for a need or for you to enjoy, then just stick that money in a CD or investment fund and let it actually GROW. It's not like 2wd and SR5 Tacomas don't sell. I tried to find a used truck that met my specs, and they were all holding their value so well that I was better off buying new.

I spend about 1-1 1/2 hours driving my truck everyday.I wish I could have got TRD OR but not an option. It was SR5 4x4 or TRD SPORT for me.I would rather have the JBL 6xCD , BT and color bumper than have lesser amenities and 4x4.Last truck had it , almost never used it.To much urban use for me.You will dig it no matter what you choose though.Good Luck

 I was at the dealer a few months ago and they didn't have bilstein shocks on the sr5 or base models.

;) I have a non trd, non sr5, Double Cab V6 4x4. It has power windows and locks, that was all I needed. I upgraded the stereo, rims and tires, suspension (TSB), tinted the windows, added a tow hitch, wet okole seat covers, now it does everything I need it to do and saved $$. I can add fog lights and intermittent wipers pretty cheap. I don't need a locker, stock 4x4 works anywhere I'd go. I also like my black fenders and bumpers, no chrome!

not to many, love it the way it is
mp3 cds will hold about 4 or 5 cds worth of music on one cd depending on what kbs burn rate you use, no need for 6 disc stereos

ya I agree, stackers are a thing of the past. I would just get yourself an mp3 player, or burn mp3 discs, which is almost a thing of the past now too

I'm sure touch screen user friendly car stereos will soon have massive 100 or 500 gig hard drives to store music and such and totally eliminate cds or mp3 players

yup true they already have them and have for a few years now, but probably wont eliminate mp3 players as many people use them for stuff like walks bike rides and going to the gym, lol when was the last time you saw someone go to the gym with a cd walkman lololol

My brother used to sell toyota, the dealer makes a good bulk of their profit on options. I got the SR5 package and got the TSD + 5100 + LSD for a total cost of $450 installed. Is LSD standard on the sports package?

I was fishing in Long Beach on sunday, some getto fabulas guy walked on to the pear with a getto blaster on his shoulder dancing to MJ.

Sure you can handle Long Beach? :D I got mugged three times and jumped more times then I can remember in the 7-8years I lived there. My dads car was also stolen at the same pier about 15 years ago.
