I purchased the Astrium GEE 5985 head unit for my 2008 tacoma. a little gun shy on installing it myself a bit intimidated, so many wires. instruction explain the connections on the back of the unit but will i be able to easily identify where they connect into the wires in the truck.
example, looks like the speaker wires are RCA will i be able to identify left and right in the dash? not sure what to expect when i take the old unit out.
also it comes with GPS NAV and has the antenna where do i mount the antenna?
also comes with rear view camera any idea how to identify the back up wire in the drivers side kick panel?
    see link for the unit
any help or tips would appreciate....

should be pretty much plug and play i think since made for tacoma, there are plugs on the back of the units, its simple "if it dont fit, it dont go there" :)

its not just random wires to cut and splice or anything.

taking it out is super easy, just a tip,put park brake on and put shifter as far back as you can, then place a box between the shifter and the dash, the wires are not long at all, you will need something to rest the headunit on while you work.

if i remember right there is only 2 or 4 bolts after ya pull the a/c control panel out. be careful wen you do that, the retainers break kinda easy.

    cheers,
    disco

also make sure you ground the 'park' wire so you can use all features while driving :)

I have installed this Astrium unit unmy 2007 Tacoma.

Everything went great except only 1 speaker works? The rear right is working, but the others do not deliver any sound. I tried to play with the Fade options, checked the wiring.... what could have I dont wrong?

I'm about to tackle this install soon. Very little in the way of instructions. A few questions... Where does GPS puck go? Where do you route the camera wire. How many discs does it hold? Does TPMS work with 2007s?
