    Another first for RST.

So you guys with the six speed Tacoma's are finally getting tired of those electronic t case's that are in your trucks. But the only solution was to either put in a lefty, which is not the best idea given it's unreliability compaired to the chain case, or swap in the six speed t case from an FJ Cruiser but the problem there is it's full time 4wd. Not part time.

Well, we have a better solution for you. The first, part time 4wd FJ Cruiser T case that will fit the six speed transmission. It has the big 22 spline input, but it's part time 4wd without the center diff of the full time 4wd system found in the six speed FJ Cruisers.

Here is the Full time 4wd t case from the six speed FJ Cruiser. Notice how long it is and the big center rib it has.

Now here is the part time FJ Cruiser T case. Notice that it is shorter than the full time case and it doesn't have the center rib in it either.

So what we have done is swapped in the big 22 spline input from the six speed Tacoma or FJ case and made it work. There is a step that has been covered in numerous other threads that you'll have to do to make it work because if not you'll never get it shifted into 4lo with the motor on and the transmission still spinning. You need neutral and you wont get it unless you follow my instructions.

So here it is. The first part time 4wd, manual shifting T case for the six speed Tacoma's.

Here is a short video showing how it works.

The FJ Case will work on your 4Runner as well. I did a 4wd conversion on one a couple of years ago and used the FJ Cruiser T case on that swap. Worked out really well.
