    Hello All,

Can you please Tell me if this looks right? I'm running Crucial Balistix sport Ram. 2x 4gig dims. @ 1600mhz. Here is a screen shot of the results when I ran CPUZ.
    CPUZCapture_zpsa4af42bd_ab61a14fd6135b434712d68ffadf85546e42438b.jpg

it Says its only 798.1 MHz. Does that look right? or is there something that I need to correct in my Bios? Please advise?

...could be you need to set the memory clock speed higher in the BIOS... I had to do something similar w/ mine, ...had to enable the "XMP" parameter (this is to enable the processor to work w/ memory at 1600, or higher, I believe...), and this set the speed to 1600... this is for an intel processor, BTW... I assume your processor/mobo supports 1600MHz memory???

yeah It definitely supports 1600MHz ram. I'm Going to have to go check out my Bios as soon as my Virus scan finishes. I wonder how much it will liven things up once I get this fixed?

So I went into my Bios and it looked like everything was registering as 1600Mhz. so I looked through the rest of the settings and found that XMP was Disabled. So I enabled it rebooted and its still only registering at 798.1Mhz. Frustrated.

    Yeah, it's right. 798.1 x 2 = 1596.2 (1600)

...if you go into Task Mgr and click the "Performance" tab, does it show 1600 there?

it would show the 8GB there, but not the speed of the RAM.

OP, because it's ddr (Double Data Rate), the 1600Mhz is calculated by multiplying the 800 by 2. So it checks out

No but it doesn't say 798.1 anywhere either.

oh, ...ok, you may be on a different OS, ...in the win 8.1 task mgr it shows the memory speed, amongst other stuff, in the "performance" tab...

is this a relatively new computer?... you may want to consult the motherboard manual, if you can find it (mfr's website perhaps), ..there may be a couple other things you need to enable in the BIOS after enabling XMP...

You could try this in the command prompt:

    Code:
wmic MemoryChip get BankLabel, Capacity, MemoryType, TypeDetail, Speed

Rear camera anytime switch, 4x4 Illuminated Switch (from rcbs204) , rear view mirror lift bracket (from ImMrYo), 75 cent tailgate anti-theft. Technically not mods but give me a break I'm trying to fill space here... OEM Leather pkg, keyless unlock & ACC chime silence, BakFlip G2, Ultra Gauge EM, WeatherTech floor mats, OEM roof rack
As Bob and Robnik said, it IS running at 1600. DDR (double data rate) of 800 is 1600.
What I would check however is the timings. Make sure it is running at the timings and voltage advertised on the sticks or packaging. Sometimes the BIOS doesn't pick them up correctly and runs it with safe (slower) timings. Yours appears to be running at 10-10-10-28, just make sure that's right. If so, you're all set.

If the voltage is right, then you are all set.

A quick look at this Crucial product sheet doesn't show any 10 10 10 28 DDR3 kits.. maybe you have a different model # than shown.. I was looking for voltage info.
