Sorry if there is any information on the forums already on this subject but I've not been able to find anything. Ive seen remote controlled search lights on vehicles before and think it would be pretty sweet to mount one on my truck. It just seems that there is not many options out there other than china suppliers that look cheep and overall just plain crappy. The closest thing I can find is made by Jabco for boating. Has anyone on here ever done this or know some one who has? Thanks in advanced guys for any guidance.

Looks great thanks for the pics and the info! I'm hoping to be able to mount this on the hood right below the windshield on the drivers side. Not sure if it will work but I'm going to find out.

They make a wired remote, which is a lot cheaper but the remote isn't as good. It's extremely sensitive. (That's the one I have lol) and then they make one with a wireless remote. It's more expensive but has way better of a remote with two speeds on it. If I had to do it again id go ahead and get the wireless. Pretty good price difference though, but it's probably worth the better remote. The wired one doesn't come with a magnetic mount so you'll have to buy one separate.. It's about $30.

Just to add to your peace of mind dropping the coin on one of those. Golights are legit. I was a buyer for an exploration drilling company and we had one on almost every piece of equipment we had, which totalled almost 300 vehicles. Those guys are extremely hard on everything they touch. The only failures we ever had was because some they would drop something like a piece of drill steel on them. I want one.

Yeah the more options the better. We had one in Iraq but I never thought to look at the brand. I just figured it was a rigid of some kind cause everything else was. It obviously was not.

I have two of them mounted to my rack that I built. They are wired to controlles in my shifter cup holder and I have the rf remotes also for when not in my truck. They work independent of each other. I use them mostly when on road to light up the sides of the road to prevent deer ftom running out on me. Or when setting up camp or backing in since they spin all the way around.

I'm interested in the possibilities of mounting the go light in this location on the driver side most likely having to utilize a similar mount.

You def have to make sure it was removed before opening hood.

The ones I bought for work had a magnetic base on them. Get one of those, and put it wherever you want.
