Can this Tacoma be painted to look like the one below and have the paint stay on the plastic? I want it to be permanent so ruling out Plastic Dip.
Who's had any luck with that? What brand paint to use?

So you want your sport to look like a base truck? Maybe try to find someone who will swap flares and bumper?

Not necessarily just a base either. Base can have black bumpers and no flares, too. Perhaps just a standard cab thing? That's what I have.

Though, to be honest, the black front bumper without fogs just looks...fat. I'd never go back to no fogs.

Just a thought... Have you ever looked into bushwacker fender flares ? If i was to go to any type of flares and i had a little cash to spend. Bushwackers all the way. As for the front part of your truck you might just want to keep it the same color and just go with the flares.

Should have no trouble finding someone to trade you the parts. IMO it would look better to trade parts over trying to paint.

How easy is that to remove the flares? The bumpers seem straight forward but aren't the flares snapped into the body?

Yes it can be painted, that is all they are right now is painted plastic. Now, depending how you prep and prime will determine how well it will stick. If you just paint over the existing paint, then you could expect chipping easily.

But yes, I would bet you could find someone to trade fairly easy.

I would remove the flares even if you just paint the ones you've got. They're held on with plastic clips and a few screws. Remove the inner fenders to get access to release the plastic clips from behind and/or buy some extra clips.
