So i am looking at getting a new Tacoma 2014, i would love to get a TRD Sport package (looks like a nice combo between SR5 and Prerunner) but as far as I can tell there are none around here. I found an SR5 but i was wondering if someone could suggest a lift so it sits as high (or a little higher) than the prerunner. Any advice?

Prerunner is the same height as 4WD, but with just 2WD. What are you asking?

Should be easy to get a TRD Sport anywhere?

SR5 is optional on all Tacomas, me thinks you are confused.

No worries, but I think you may be confused a bit. PreRunners are essentially identical to non-PreRunners (i.e. Tacomas with four wheel drive), except PreRunners don't have four wheel drive. On both the PreRunners and non-PreRunners, you can get the SR5, Sport, or Off Road packages. So stock, a PreRunner Sport sits at the same height as a non-PreRunner Sport (the same goes for the Off Road package).

You can get a Tacoma that sits lower to the ground, but those aren't available in Sport or Off Road trim packages. They're also not as common as the regular, higher Tacomas and PreRunners.

So if you're wanting a Tacoma with four wheel drive and you want it to sit just as high as a PreRunner, you can go to the dealership right now and buy one. They come standard that way.

Does that help, or did I confuse you?

I'll try to find a couple pictures to help illustrate what I'm saying.

Edit: I just threw this together thinking it might help.

Truck on the left is just a Tacoma. Truck on the right could be Tacoma or PreRunner.

Thank you that is very helpful, now that i know that i might be able to define my problem a little more, with-in 100 miles of my house there are only 4 Tacomas and they all sit low. So i was looking for the right type of lift kit to make them look like each other.

    I think you meant 4x4(?)

EDIT: Not trying to be critical, just clarifying for OP.

What god forsaken part of Texas do you live that has only 5-lug Tacomas, in the rest of the country you have to special order one?

Seriously? I know they had a hard time finding what I wanted, but that was because of the options I choose (originally a manual, then upgraded sound with Nav). They should be able to get you a PreRunner/SR5/Sport/Off-Road - basically, a non-5-lug.

Not to drop names, but give Cowboy Toyota a call and ask for Billy. He hooked me and a friend up. And, he is currently working with a friend of mine. In fact, I could have swore I saw some taco's there the other day (maybe used) when I rode by.

Uh, Toyota of Dallas shows 17 on the lot, all prerunners or 4x4, not a single 5-lug. What you need to do is build the truck you want on toyota.com and they can tell you where to find it.
