Congrats. I also purchased the prerunner thinking I'll never need the 4x4. Kind of wish I had gotten the 4x4 now especially after this winter's snow storm. I'm not going to lie though, the prerunner did very well going up and down the hills in snow. No issues at all, but I would have felt better with 4x4.

I think this is a great deal. I hate to loose the old old truck though. Financially, this is a great deal, but it still hurts a little since the old truck has taken me across the country a couple times. Of coarse, I will let it go. Looking forward to new memories with the new truck. Why do we get attached to pieces of metal?

If this is a dealer then we know who comes out on these kinds of deals.

You didn't make a bad deal. They were in somewhere around 22-24k for your truck? Pretty good. They may already have had someone on the hook for your '12.

    Got the truck!
I've got a camping trip this weekend, so no time to post up pics at the moment. Feeling really good about the deal. I only took a $500 hit on the trade after owning it for almost 2 years and 38,000 miles, they still had to take $2k off the new one's sticker to make the numbers work.

So I saw the old truck at the dealer's used lot. They are asking $24,900 for it. They gave me $24,500 for it plus took $2,000 off the price of the new one. It's a dealer, and I know they made money. Just makes me wonder how much profit they normally make on a deal. Anyway, here are a couple of pics of the new truck (I added tires and the rack after the fact).

You did very well, congrats. Sometimes you just have to give in to what you really want, you only live once.
