For us northen folk this was the first really nice paddle worthy weekend. The lakes still have ice but the rivers are flowing. Just wondering what kind of boat you have and how you transport it?

I have an Toyota OEM roof rack and foam kayak carries that slide on the roof racks. I use ratchet straps to the anchors to secure the boats. It is a cheap set up, low profile and easy to place on, extremely secure. I left my Taco and one end of the river put the foam pads and ratchet straps in the pod. My dad pick us up in his 4Runner, this system was comparable with his OEM roof racks as well. The best part of this system it is versitle and quick. Also works with my 17ft canoe. IMG_0954.jpg

I put my Ocean Kayak Scramblers in the bed with tailgate up, works fine for me.

This method has worked well for me for years (had the same setup on previous truck too).

The "official kayak" thread has this covered.
