Wilson Gumdrop Antenna Mount

I don't know if any of you use a CB or not but antenna type and mounting locations is a tough decision! I finally decided on a the gold standard, 102" stainless steel whip and pulled the trigger and drilled the mounting bracket hole right into the back left bumper. The step pad on the 1st gens has almost 1/4 clearance on top of the steel from the plastic ridges in the bottom of the pad. To have adequate length to connect the cable to the stud you have to cut the step pad out and drop the bracket down flush with the bumper. Plus you get a much sturdier mount this way. Also, I do not use a pot-bellied spring mount either. Personally do not like the way they look. I have no problem without the spring and gives me 4 more inches clearance too.

you should put it on top so it hits all the stop lights...etc...
