Hey guys. I apologize in advance if this is covered somewhere, but what is the best way to clean the engine. right now mine has a bunch of dust on it. I know pressure washer will work but just wanted to ask before I went and spent time on it. wanna do it right the first time around

Rinse off your motor (cold motor of course) with water hose. Spray with engine degreaser and let sit for 15 minutes or so then spray with engine detailer and let sit for 15 minutes or so. Start your truck and let it run for a bit afterwards. Did mine the other day and this is what it looks like.

I'd cover your battery and alternator with plastic

Cover your alternator (although you don't have to as long as you don't spray direct water into it you should be fine) but better than risking messing it up. Nothing wrong with spraying the degreaser on your battery/posts, won't hurt it.

Too poor to list anything interesting.
I'm a fan of the regular Simple Green all purpose cleaner for light dirt. If there's a lot of mud/caked on stuff, I'll use the SG industrial cleaner/degreaser.

"Gunk" engine cleaner is what I use. They have a heavy duty gel to lighter duty foam, and a detailer spray
