Ok so I'm new to the forum I recently purchased a 14 Tacoma DBL CabTRD 4x4. I recently installed a toyotec bilstein 5100's 3 inch lift. My question is what setting should my shocks be in the front? I can still see the 2 notches from the top of the shock. Can I raise it to the top notch without having any issues? I've also read that I have to install a 1/4 spacer on the drivers side for correction. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

i wouldn't recommend it, its set there for a reason to match those coils.
anything over 2.5" should have new upper control arms to adjust the caster angle and anything over 3" is WAY too hard on your CV joints.
you'll also start preloading the coil causing a stiffer ride.

So if I install new uca's will I be able to raises the front more? The front of the truck sits lower than the back when I did the lift they installed a 2 inch aal. I'm running 285/65/18 nitto trails on 18x9 fuels with -12 offset I just want it to look level.

Like sr5vic said anything over 3 inches is going to put stress on your CV joints and aftermarket UCA's will only help with getting your caster into spec. How much higher is the rear?

Not using the notches on the 5100s. I'm guessing you have the eibach springs with them, not supposed to go higher than the first notch from what I've read. You could add some top plate spacers, either 1/4" or 1/2" to get a little more lift. Have you measured how much lift you actually got from the kit? Even with new UCAs, which you'll likely need if you go higher, I wouldn't go higher than 3".

Maybe 1" really haven't measured It. I might just have to take the 2 inch aal and install a 1 inch I guess

You only got 1" of lift? Are those new springs or are they new/upgraded springs? If they're the stock springs, you can crank the 5100s up to the top notch. Expect a fairly stiff ride though. If they're new springs, I find it hard to believe you only got 1" of lift.

I think he's talking about the height difference between the front and rear. You have a 2014 Taco I would give some time before you change out your AAL the rear might settle in a bit.

Do you have eibachs on bilsteins?

Since you have a 2nd gen there are 4 settings on the bilsteins (stock, .85", 1.75", 2.5"). The .85" setting paired with eibach as should have given you 2.5" of lift then to get the full 3" lift you'll need the 1/4" top plate spacer to give the extra .5" of lift needed. You don't want to exceed the .85" setting with eibachs or else there will be too much precompression and too much lift if you were to bump it up to the 1.75" setting.

    With eibachs...
    1st setting = 1.65" lift
    2nd setting = 2.5" lift
    3rd & 4th = don't do it

For the full 3" get a 1/4" top plate spacer.

I believe it's on the second setting because I can clearly see the extra 2 notches on the shock. Will I need new ucas if I install a 1/4 spacer? Will a 1/2 spacer be too much? Again thanks for all the help.

Would I need to install 1/4 inch spacer to both sides?

I've read too many stories of people needing UCA's after going w/ 3" lift, especially on a 2nd gen. So I'm gonna say you'll probably want to get them for alignment and tire wear sake.

Did the coils/ shocks come preassembled? How much lift did they give?

If your at 2.5" lift then yes, a 1/2" spacer will put you at 3.5" lift and your CV's will be screaming. A 1/4" spacer would be perfect and put your right at 3". If you have the driver side lean then see if toytec makes a 3/8" top plate spacer. I know they have a top plate spacer that gives about 3/4" lift which would help compensate for the taco lean. Depending how bad the lean is on your truck maybe a 1/2" top plate spacer wouldn't be bad for the driver side only. Kinda depends how much your truck settles after a couple months.

Ok I just saw the link you posted about the setup you have. If that's the suspension you have then it gave you a full 3" lift. All you would need is the 1/4" top plate spacer for the driver side only.

Edit: you should already have a 1/4" top plate spacer on both sides. So what you want to do is take out the driver side 1/4" TPS and replace it with a 1/2" TPS to compensate for the taco lean. Although you may need longer top plate bolts which would require you to disassemble the Coilover to install the longer bolts then reassemble with the thicker TPS.

Sorry if I'm getting repetitive, just trying to thoroughly explain.
