Hi, for about 3 months I've been getting the p0136 and po138 at the same time. Both codes are 02 sensor related(Bank1 sensor2), this sensor is located after the catalytic converter.

My truck is a 2010 Toyota Tacoma access cab 2.7L 4x4 with 92000 KM (around 57000 miles) on it. At first I though the problem was the sensor, so i replaced the sensor after the catalytic converter. That didn't do it, both the codes still come on. All the wires seem to be correct... I mean the truck is barely 4 years old what could it be?

Is there anyone who had this issue?

    Here are some pictures:
The first one is the dash with the check engine light on and the ESp light.

The others are some print screen I made when i was on my OBD software. You can see all the specs when the truck is running. Also i took a print screen of the sensor when i give some trottle to the engine on neutral, i voltage seem to go below 0 or at 0 volts.

    Is this normal?

Any help would be extremely appreciated.

    Thanks
    Julien

Your emissions system have a 80k mile warranty per federal law. Take it to the dealer and stop screwing with it.

If your OBD/CAN scanner has an "advanced" function to get the Toyota codes you can tell that way, or you can pay the dealer to diagnose it.

Check your owners manual / warranty guidelines, I'm pretty sure you still have emissions component coverage. Don't take the word of some uninformed service writer unless you want the short end of the stick. Heck, you should still be covered under the 5yr/100,000 km powertrain warranty.

I noticed today that my 02 sensor temp doesn't go over 200 degrees celsius (392 farenheit)
. Could this be the problem?

if you only worried about getting an inspection sticker or something like that, emissions stuff. if you have an OBD reader, goto the inspection place, right bfore you go inside, read the codes, then select reset codes, then have them do inspection, it take a while of driving for the codes to register again and trigger any dash lights and stuff...

    :)

Hi, I have a 2012 2.7 with 63000km and getting code P0136 only. I replaced the rear O2 sensor, still getting same code. Anybody have any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Kevin

P0136 means the sensor has low voltage, and is "running lean". Double check the connector, the wires leading to it, and pull your ecu fuse or battery cable to let the computer reset. If all of that is good, it could be a bad cat, or even the upstream O2 sensor.

Yes, you have powertrain and emissions warranty at that age and mileage, so take it to your dealer.

Unfortunately Toyota doesn't cover O2 sensors after 60000km. Going to check connector/wires tonight.
