Just a working theory right now but...

Can you run a CB through a standard car antenna -or- can you run a car radio through a CB antenna?

I rarely listen to the radio so it makes sense to install a CB antenna where the radio antenna is. However, keeping things "stock" looking is something I prefer. Downside is not having the ability to tune the antenna.

Another option would be to replace the stock antenna with a 3' firestick or 3' Wilson Silver Load. If I did this, could I also run the car radio through the same antenna. I know I couldn't do it at the same time but that would give me a tuneable CB antenna with the ability to also listen to the car radio.

Edit: I did find a Firestik AR-1A splitter that does allow you to use a CB antenna for the radio.

Do you have a pic of the antenna on your truck? I've been wanting to do this for awhile now, but didn't want to geek up my truck with multiple antennas. I already have a ham radio installed in my truck, but want to add a CB for talking to truckers while I'm on the road. Installing the antenna in place of the stock antenna would be awesome!

Haven't done it yet. Broken strut took presedence so the CB is on hold for now.

    Check the TTORA Garage Section....
I remember someone asking this in TTORA, years ago... I want to say... No it is not possible....due to how CB signals and radio signals are received. And sent.
