ARE cap, Bedslide, Icon Stage 3 lift, 17" black steel FJ wheels, 32" BFG AT, ARB Winch Bar, IPOR sliders, Cobra 75 WXT. Other current vehicles: 2000 F350 TD Crew, 1996 Land Cruiser, 1987 Samurai, 2000 LX470, and 1979 Chevy Dump truck. Past: 1972 FJ40, 1989 FJ62, 1962 Unimog S404, and two 1967 Series IIA Rovers (one SWB, one LWB)
2014 Pyrite Mica, Double Cab, Long Bed (DCLB) Project

Guiding Philosophy: I'm almost 50. I've had many head-turning, lifted trucks. Nowadays I'm trying to develop a more understated, functional, expedition look. We also have five other trucks (F350, LX470, FZJ80, Samurai, and a dump truck), so this vehicle fits a specific niche of traveling the wide variety of paved and unpaved routes to and from our farm in West Virginia. Except for covering up the remaining chrome and removing the ARB and ARE stickers, I think at I've arrived at the end of Phase I of my project.

    As of May 15, 2014:

I love this ARE Cap. Caps on trucks are a great indicator that the driver is over 40, but these side windows extend the cap’s utility much further. When the window opens, a strip of LED lights come on specific to that window.

This is the ARB Bull Bar, Warn M8000 and Engo 120W LED setup. You’ll see it’s angled slightly toward the passenger side.

The ATO Dual Battery Tray with two Series 34 batteries. I run the same in my LX470 after custom-building them for my Land Cruiser wagons.

Here you can also see where the Warn M8000 controller was relocated under the hood.

Here's a look at the BFG AT 265/70R17 C on 17" FJ Cruiser stock steel wheels / rims. We use this truck to travel 130 miles each way to our farm in Hampshire Co., West Virginia (near Oldtown, MD) and I picked this tire after much consideration. This setup provides for the traction, gearing, road noise compromise that suits me best.

I haven't mounted the mic yet. The rest of the 75wx is behind the forward part of the center console, so the cable comes out from the passenger side. I currently store the mic in the open storage bin, but I'm considering where to mount it.

Great truck!! Very thoughtful for us, cough, over forty folks...or fifty. No pics of the bedslide? I LOVE mine and got it so I could quit crawling around in the back under the canopy - that was before I knew about those caps and thinking about one although the bedslide does pretty much take care of it!!

You have made some great mods and I will keep a sharp eye for future mods and pics!!

Looked up those rims, does ~$70 a piece sound right for those? That's what I'm seeing and I'm in disbelief! They're so simple and so badass looking I'm considering a set of 16s if I can find em for my TRD OR. Your truck is classy and extremely good looking, keep us posted!
