cleaning wheels

    i com 2300 ham radio. for hunting (170 k miles) list of replacements since 166k miles: 4wd solenoid tailpipe muffer catalitytic conver exhaust manifold

    above they are not my wheels. idk if the pic ill post or not but anyway i got 4 wheels today like the one above for 50 bucks at a yard sale and came with tires. the tire are much count but still a good deal right. they are not in the best shape. well the only thing awrong with them is they are just dirty. what is the best to clean them up with

    HBS leveling kit, 31x10.50 mudders, header/imco exhaust, rear billies, LR ucas, home brewed onboard air, cb radio
    my rims like that were nasty and yellowed so I hit them with some aircraft paint remover to get the old clear coat off plannin to paint them, but they looked awesome once I got the old clear coat off so I left them. Might be worth a shot just to strip them and see what ya got.

    If you're painting them, after stripping them, use a good quality self etching primer on them before a final finish...if using rattle cans, SEM self etching primer is excellent... comes in munkly dung green and black... If using HVLP equipment, auto body supply shops will have good quality stuff...very important step. Apply two good coats of primer, when it flashes, apply the top coat, and you're good to go...I'll assume that one will use a one step finish on wheels, you don't want to build too much material on wheels, if you clear coat, it gets to be a little thick...
