I heard a while back that they paid it back in some paperwork type respect but in actuality they didn't repay it. The bailout was to save the unions,, unions have clout and well the rest is history. .

Please. The tacoma has had its share of recalls, and half this forum is still riding around in trucks that whistle at 40mp or shudder on acceleration or deceleration -- and might toyota can't figure out a reliable fix. All cars have issues. Props to GM for fixing one.

I remember Chevy's in the 60's having idler arms that fell off the pivot point they never recalled them just gave them new idler arms after they fell off they did not even pay for the trees and other cars that got ran into.

Ya, they're recalled more cars than they have sold this year. Let that sink in a minute.

Correct. Integrity is a lost art. Show me the money! I wasn't able to take advantage of any tsbs on my truck. So now it's my to do list.
Kinda like getting a traffic signal at an intersection , won't happen until enough people are hurt or killed.

Same situation for me on my leaf springs Kevin ... temp cured with Ride-Rite Airbags. Eventually I'll go aftermarket packs, probably Dakar.
