OK, I need to know if my Tacoma has LSD in front and real axles. And if I put in 4wd Hi both axles will work without touching any other buttons. I have 2014 V6 TRD OFF ROAD model. Thanks!!!

Your truck has electronic limited slip, not a mechanical LSD. It senses a slipping wheel and applies the brakes on that wheel, transferring power to the other wheel on that axle.

If you in snow country you gonna have to touch some buttons. Your off-road has rear locker but only in 4L regular traction control will cut your engine down when detects slip. So you gonna have to disable that before getting into serious stuff. By default electronic stuff are good for stroll on snowy highway.

sounds like someone needs to do a little searching on the forums... theres a big thread that explains ALLL traction modes.

Also its kinda sad to see how little knowledge people have of stuff like 4x4 when they spend 35k on a truck with it. just saying

Not picking on the Op, but I'm more impressed you could hand over $35K hard earned, and not get a clear answer from the guy selling it to you. Actually now that I think about it, I'm not that surprised actually.

It's situations like this that I think the person should have bought a Subaru instead. My wife's Outback is better than any truck I've driven in snow, and I've had them with aggressive rubber, lockers & LSD differentials. That Subaru is stupid proof, nothing to push, turn on, or activate, does not even have LSD's but goes like a dog sled through almost anything.

    Here's some help:

If you've never used to 4x4 a little warning for you, don't use it on pavement unless you're going in a straight line.

+1 for helping send him to the right thread. People that are new to the forum might not know how to search...just looking for a little help...

OP, There's also an updated one for like 2012+ if you search around...

Ranch Topper, Bull Bar.....Yes, I know everyone thinks they are crap, I like the look
What is really amazing is how little the owners manual tells you.

Exactly. The fact that the guys selling them don't really know about all the 4X controls doesn't help much either.
