Trans lines isn't totally out of the question, especially if they've been taken off and on a few times. 3 times is a little much but never know

Have you replace the TRE's with OEM or aftermarket? Aftermarket TRE's lasted a year exactly in my 99' 4runner. OEM, 5-10 years...

Still, unless they're kinked/ferrel nut is stripped/won't seal anymore, no reason to "go bad" But it raises a bigger picture, why are they off so many times ?? Is it plausible that 2 or 3 trans go bad in such a short time ??

I'm having a problem with that, I think this truck was rode very hard & hung up wet.. (Dont recall if OP had trans issues, but why remove lines unless there IS an issue) Yep, I'm calling abuse of truck, not saying OP did it but someone has beat the fuck out of it with so many issues, regardless of lift, unless a complete rust bucket snapping leafs isn't that easy to do even with stock leafs

Could be, but knowing he resides in Canada they could be rusting out.

I'm with Doug. It's not the truck's fault ... Somebody beat that truck up and unfortunately for the Op, he got suckered punched with a worn out truck. :sorry: but that's how I read it.

Ive never removed any trans lines, i dont get where anyone got that idea from in my post... But ive blown 3 of them... confusing as alll hell

And yeah, rusting i think has played a bit of an issue. Not only do I live in a town where they use salt religiously on the roads in winter, this is the town where its shipped in on freighters, dumped at the "stalt dock" then distributed throughout Ontario. Im going to call Toyota about it. Between being a known issue with the mounts on an early second gen as well as the possibility of a frame recall, never knoe what could happen

Having to replace your leaf packs and having a 6" lift makes sense to me. Running already crap OEM springs with a big ass lift block (inclined to eventually breaking leafs) and topping that off with a corrosive winter environment....yeah makes sense to me.

My replacing of the spings would be the third set the truck had. The stealership i bought it off of (a dodge dealiership oddly) had to put new spring packs in it before I would buy it.

You should buy some comparable leafs to go with your 6" lift next time you need a new replacement because blocks beat up the OEM crap.

Blocks aren't as bad as people make them out to be, depends on design & the install, first design: You have to emulate the stock axle perch both width/length, personally I'd under size the hole the head of centerpin sits in for a tighter fit, most all axle perch's the hole is too big,too sloppy, these are areas that the more "matched" they are the stabler the ride. No rocking, no side to side lateral twisting (it can start from the center of leafpack & work its way all the way to the eyeletts, seen it happen before)

& of course make the "pinned " end of block a little larger to fill up stock space...

You need to shave/taper the block to allow for parallel drive line alignment (this brings axle up to specs. allowable) The amount or degrees needed for say, a 4" block..

The install: Get everything into place & properly torque (in sequence)

& absolutely DO NOT USE ALUMINUM, ALWAYS CAST IRON !! or other heavy/dense steel..

I ran a 4" cast iron block just as described on my 72' 1 ton Power Wagon & I took that truck places I'd never get my tacoma or my jeep into, never an issue

Incorrect, modifying/altering/does not constitute a blanket statement like that, nor does it automatically fall into a negative/issue area with considerations on the geometry changed with a lift, we do it all the time & FWIW "stock" in regards to Toyota isn't anything I'd use in reference to being correct.

I've got a 3" lift & have no anomalies in my driveline , 212k miles=stock U joints/originals/no issues at all also simple math...

I have to reply about the stock springs. I had two sets of stock leaf packs snap. The first time at 75k mi one leaf snapped and almost punctured the gas tank. Replace with new oem springs. These lasted about 50k more miles then snapped again. Finally went with OME 3" lift springs and couldnt be happier. I have about 105k mi on them and they still sit very well. Never had to replace any front end components and have never even had an allignment done. Hell I still have the original fan belt:D But now it seems i need to get a new frame:(

OP, I mean know offense but someone has to say it - it is spelled "know" not "knoe."

You truck does seem to have excessive issues, which I'm sure are party because of the lift. I don't get why the transmission is busting lines. Perhaps you have something in your tranny cooler that's impeding flow and causing unusually high pressure?
