What'd you use to clean the paint after you scuffed it? Did you use the stuff they recommended?

I got the door sills a few months ago & bed mat last week. The bed mat is probably one of the best things I have bought for my truck, no more stuff sliding around back there. Stuff really sticks well to that bed mat.

I just used a quick detailer to clean the sill then used alcohol before I applied them, used a credit card to push the air bubbles out & haven't had a problem.

I just wiped it down and air dried and stuck it on......i removed the plastic pieces and stuck a portion of the sill protector under the plastic pieces to make it look oem just like White Knight's pic......so far so good......i didn't scuff it at all.

I used a small amount of acetone and wiped the area clean. I did no scuffing.

    secret stuff.
Don't be a tard like me, look around online before plunking down the money at the dealer for the door sill guards. I paid about $40 expecting some thick plastic guards with 3M tape, and got thin black vinyl stickers with the words TACOMA on it. trdparts for you has them damn near 1/2 the price I paid, and interestingly enough seem to have two different versions. Ones that are described as ABS plastic, and the vinyl ones I got described as "Protect your vehicle's interior from everyday scuffs and scrapes while providing a slip resistant surface".

You can get a real nice mat from Summit Racing right now for $49.90 shipped. Just got mine today. It's not the Toyota OEM one and it doesn't say "Tacoma" on it, but it's very nice. See THIS thread if interested.
