I have a 2014 Tacoma. Going to be ordering a complete 3" lift from Toytec. They recommend a 4.5" backspacing. I like my tires to stick out don't get me wrong but I also live in Maryland where past 2" and your getting busted. I'm looking at the fuel deep dish octane wheels 20x9 or 20x10 with 33x11.5 or 12.5. The wheels with a 4.5" bs have a -12 offset. I understand how it all works but my question is how far will they stick out? Thanks in advance!

I am running 295's....which is about 11.5 inches wide. My wheels are 4.5 bs with a -12 offset. Hope this gives you an idea of how far they stick out.

Thanks for the pics! I ended up ordering 275/65r18 BFG all terrains which measured out to be 32x11. Not sure how I feel about the size yet:/ couldn't get a clear answer from anyone on what size tire i could go with without rubbing or hacking up my fenders

I would think you should be okay with that size tire and not have to trim. I had 285/70/17's on an '09 with a 3" lift and had to trim quite a bit of the plastic in the wheel well.
With my current set up and tire size there was no trimming.

I sent them back and ordered 285/60R18 which measured out to be 32x11.5 terra grapplers. Hopefully this will be a good setup!

Nice....Definitely get what you are going to be happy with. There will probably be some minor trimming, but nothing too involved. Post some pics when you get everything done!!

3" Lift (Bilstein 5100s, OME 886s, Deaver U402 leaf springs) , KMC 18" Addict wheels, BFG All Terrain T/A Tires, Demello Off-road front and custom rear bumpers, winch, Satoshi Grille. That's it... for now.
I have a 3" lift on my truck and am running 285/65/R18 tires. I have cut away as much of the plastic as possible and done a cab mount chop and still, my tires rub. It is driving me nuts. Clearly I need to go down a size but how small do I need to go? If I go down to 16" rims will that work? It should, but I am no wizard with this stuff.

the wheel size doesn't make a difference just the tire size. I'm going to end up going with a 285/60/r18 I'll let you know tomorrow how they work out lol

I'm pretty sure it matters for metric sizes. The width is the first number the second number is a percentage of the width to equal side wall height. This does not take into account the size of the wheel. Given 285/60R18.

X*.Y+(Z*2.54) Use 2.54 to convert from inches to cm.
    285*.60+ (18*2.54).
So: 285*.60+(16*2.54) is a different size
