I have a tundra to tow with. The taco will be used for daily driving a litttttle freeway but mostly 55mph mountain highway the elevation changes from about 5000ft to about 7000 by the top of the grades. I wouldn't really worry about th engine figuring if there is a problem with it I can get a whole new engine for 1300 so that's not bad. I have the know how to work on these great little engines. Unlike the 3.0 that drives me nuts. What's the need for an inter cooler an a supercharger?? Any turbos that will work for it? Probably cost how much I pay for the truck lol thanks for all the help guys :)

Haha! let me rephrase... Same power output BETTER engine, BETTER fuel economy and BETTER reliability

Also i may add... look at the sticker on the inside of the driver side door jam and see what type of gear ratio is in, ill see if i can find the link to help you decipher it.

It would be the same need as for a turbo setup, to cool that high or low boosted charge. The S/C kits that are put together for our trucks don't usually have them unless you can talk someone into creating a custom kit put together,,for about another $10K:rolleyes:. I mentioned intercooler in case you decide to go the turbo route, and it was my devil's advocate cheering you on to make you feel better about spending $10k.

Plenty of turbo kits out there,,read up and choose wisely. Don't just decide on one kit, either turbo or S/C, till the background work is done and you weight it all together.

If I was living in the Colorado hills and doing what your doing with it,, I would turbo it.

Also, whether or not you'll like the 2.7 depends on what you're used to.

If your previous vehicle had a Chrysler Hemi, then you will not like it. :(
If your previous vehicle had a 95hp Toyota 22R ( like mine did ) then you'll love it.

Egr is not always an easy fix. There is 3 or 4 parts to the egr system and finding out which one is bad is costly sometimes

True I guess it depends if it's the valve it's self that needs cleaning or if the whole thing needs replaced

Looks pretty clean. Posted 10 days ago. Might get price down to compensate for Egr. If you don't need 4x4 looks like 4500 tops to me.(2wd)
Edit: After looking at pics better price goes down. 3800 tops

Funny the 1st truck never says 4x4. The second one has 35's? Can you say suspension woes. Third truck looks right to me. 1st truck went back to 4500. Looks like needing some tlc.

It's the only thing holding me back from running up there and picking it up IMO the tranny as long as maintained will would be ok but what do you guys think is that to many miles on the standard tranny in these... Here are some more pictures
