Ended up buying a Tacoma since my last vehicle was tragically totaled and this was going to be the replacement when I decided to sell that anyway.

    2011 TRD Sport DCLB

    trd.jpg

Loving it so far...except for the factory headunit. That is seriously awful. Doesn't sound good, only a one line display, crazy. It'll be swapped this week.

I absolutely love the Pyrite Mica color...if I were buying new I think I'd pick the same.

I was originally going to look for a double cab TRD OR, but found this sport and liked the idea of a long bed. It's a little obnoxious for a midsize truck, but not as bad as I expected it to be.

Truck has 58k on it and is mint. Not so much as a scratch anywhere and the interior looks like it was never sat in. One owner, every little thing was done by the dealer.

Other than the headunit, I'm not sure what I want to do. I don't care for the tires...they're some generic no-name A/T, but they're new and it's summer and I don't plan on going anywhere crazy so they'll do.

I've told people it's "brown" and they look disappointed, then they see the truck for the first time and every single one of them has told me they love the color.

It sure shows dust, though, which surprised me!

So, how does one disable the seat belt chime? I found the instructions for 2011 and earlier but can't get it to work on mine after many attempts. Maybe because mine appears to be one of the last 2011s based on the build date.

I expect it will be infuriating when I'm off road or if I set something just heavy enough in the passenger's seat.

My old Outback was easy--buckle and unbuckle the seatbelt 20 times in 30 seconds immediately after starting the car and the setting would stick until the battery was disconnected.

Grats on the truck. If for some reason you can't get the seatbelt chime to turn off you could always grab one of these. When you go off road just clip them in and your good to go.

Reading through it looks like the dealer is the only option for the new gauge 2011s (which I have) and apparently many won't do it. The extender is a good idea, though!

    Thanks!

I think the color is unusual...I don't see many around here and there are LOTS of Tacomas in this area. Pictures don't do it justice...I put a coat of wax on it today and it looks awesome in the sun.

Also found out that there are literally no flaws in the paint anywhere. Whoever had this for me clearly cared for it...or it never did anything truck like in its life.

Congrats on your purchase. An aftermarket deck is a good investment, that was one of my first mods.

my pyrite is an 09 and has 70k on it. There is something with the paint layering of the pyrite because it is the most durable paint I have ever had on a car. Doesnt even chip. Not one chip on the front. Or anywhere actually and I dont baby the paint

I think mine is a 6-disc changer, but it still sounds awful. Plus if you turn it up so it's loud enough to hear with the windows open, it flattens the sound to the point where I think a short wave radio would give it good competition. I suspect the speakers are okay, but the headunit doesn't have enough power to make use of them.

I have a Kenwood touch screen double-DIN HU on the way along with the steering wheel adapter, XM Tuner, a small 8" under seat powered sub, and all the wiring. I think it'll be enough to keep me happy, if not it's a good start and I'd swap out speakers next.
