So my new 2014 TRD OR has about 5k miles on it, and the tires are developing a line on the sidewall. It's in the same place on all 4 tires

PSI is 32 on all 4 tires

    Is this normal tire wear?

My Goodyear Wrangler RT/S do the same. I haven't touched/cleaned the tires or rims since it left the dealer. It was all shiny and black, they put a bunch of that tire shine stuff all over it... I don't really have a good picture of how the tires look now though.

It did come with some tire shine stuff on it

Maybe it's just that stuff coming off?

I'm not an expert but that looks like it could just be two different rubber compounds. They may have used something different for the flexy sidewall than they used for the bead and tread sections.

I've seen similar stuff when you're off roading in dirt that stains your side lug rubber. I've mostly seen it happen in clay. Right now I have a blue tint to the side lugs on my tires due to tire spin in some blue/black clay. Tire shine also attracts dirt and reacts in strange ways in my experience.

Yeah, Mine came with a bunch of that tire shine stuff it flung all over my truck and inside the fender wells... It was dripping off my tires when I got it.

    At the Dealer.
