I finally got my system installed! I got the Kenwood DNX7100 with ipod connection and back up camera installed a couple months ago, and now I got 2 10" Kicker cvr subs installed in a custom box that fits perfect! I had seen some pics on here of this box and was concerned if there were any modifications needed to have this installed. There was no cutting required, and the seats still lock in place perfectly. I ordered it with the extra mounting depth that can fit speakers up to 5.9" deep, and the OEM carpet to match. The speakers are being powered by a Kenwood 1000W amp and this thing hits! My friend has 3 10" JL audio W3v2 in his truck, and there is no question that my system hits harder. I have the bass set at -8 and the subwoofer level at 0 and I am going deaf, and the amp is not even bridged! I dynamated the area behind the box so there is no rattle, just clean deep bass. i couldn't be happier with the system.

I also added this cool ultra stubbie antenna, here are some pics of the set up.

So how do the speakers sound in truck boxes while in a DC? I never thought they sounded good in larger spaces. But I could be mistaken. The headunit and speakers both look great man! Keep up the good work.

The sound is unbeleivable, but that depends on what you like. the 10" give it a nice tight hitting bass while stil being able to give deep low bass, it sounds great with either rock or rap. The main difference is the buiilt in EQ and cross overs in the head unit that allow you to change the high and low pass filters for the front, rear and subs individually that way you aren't pushing bass out of the door speakers, and it has a really crisp high end sound, not like the systems where all you hear is a bass tone.

Thats what I like to hear! lol. I have one twelve and it sounds perfect for me. Along with my headunit I can also change the mids, highs, and bass for front, rear, and the sub which is great.

Sorry to dig up an old post, but where did you get the boxes from?

Also, did you have to tear out the child restraint tethers?

    Thanks,

    R
