clunking like something fell off

ok so i pulled into my driveway wheel turning about a turn and a half then over the rounded curb i drive and all of a sudden....clunk clunk it goes and i felt it shake the car also. it comes from the front right wheel area.

any ideas as to what it is? it also happens when i go in reverse backing out of the driveway

 

Steering tie rods?

 

checked those after looking around on the forum and they are tight

 

mud gaurd... been there done that

I think he means the mud flap could be loose/broken and rubbing. Check around your axel for anything wrapped up in it, visually inspect around your wheels and brakes for anything that shouldn't be there, ect. Aside from that, I'd start looking at suspension components...

 

dont have mud flaps and i just took it to the dealer because there was another clanking that one was fixed and this one started idk anymore. ill just see whats there and see if theres anything loose

 

thats seems like an aweful lot of slop. looked at the whole steering as chris 4x4 posted pics in another thread and it all seems tight. im taking it to see a great mechanic near me and see what he says wont cost me anything so we will see

 

check for a loose cam-bolt on the Lower control arm, the arm is slapping back and forth when your momentum changes or you hit a bump

 

is that one of the two bolts there that is used for alignment?

 

if those are loose tacoma techs suck cause i got it aligned by them and they must not have tightened them or something...could that be why my truck doest go straight when im on the freeway?
