Help with the fancy 12v switch

    Ordered from eBay, blindly assuming it would pop in and of course it does not.

    As you see from the picture, the hole steps down in size. The larger hole is 7/8" x 1 9/16" and the smaller is 11/16" x 1 3/8". I can shave the retaining clips on the switch to make the height but the width of the switch cannot be altered and requires that I shave the smaller hole in the dash. Once installed, it should be clean. Before I take this irreversible action, is there some other option to look at? Should I buy a different switch?

    Incidentally, this switch will provide power to this 12v outlet I plan to install in the bed. [​IMG]

    Thanks! That's the most OEM switch I've seen to date...not sure I'm ready to spend $30 on it though. :)

    I used one of those blank switches for a sub volume control. If you shave the hole in the dash width-wise, you will lose retention and you'll have to glue the new switch in.
