I drove out of state to get the truck and price I wanted. Get what you want the first time. No need for regrets. BTW, TRD DCLB FTW!

Sales Tax is based on where you live not where you buy the vehicle. Pretty sure same goes for Registration.

Just get a loan for the total amount from your bank of choice and go get it.

    ^^ this

If you're planning on modding save the few thousand and dump it into something else. TRD Sport/SR5 have the same axle. Only difference is the seats and a few power outlets (you can buy these or put them in yourself)

I don't see many long box double cabs around here other than mine. I also rarely see a prerunner, though, probably because a RWD truck in New England in the winter is not ideal.

I agree with you. The DCLB is a bit obnoxious for a midsize truck and the difference in maneuverability is noticeable, but I didn't think the 5 ft bed was all that useful and I like having space in the cab.

You can't get a TRD Offroad DCLB , so no locker anyway

I may be wrong, but I thought I read that you can't get the locking rear diff in a DC long bed. You definitely can't get DC long bed with a 6 speed, I know because I tried.

I have spent over a month trying to find the EXACT same thing and I am now waiting for the local dealer to get back to me tomorrow about a time frame on ordering. I never thought this set up would be so damn hard to find.

Um, A TRD Sport and a TRD Off Road aren't the same thing. The sticker on the side and the scoop SCREAM TRD Sport. :smack:

EDIT : Your earlier comment about a diff lock and a power outlet aren't all that right either. The diff lock is TRD Offroad only. And the Sport has the better seats IMHO.

I bought 5 vehicles out of state, 3 in Arizona and 2 in Nevada. I never paid the California sales Tax and I'm from Southern California.

TRD Sport doesn't have a locker unless it is put on aftermarket. This is a Sport. TRD Off-Road has a locker, but doesn't come as DCLB.

Once we agreed on price, my KS dealer sent a runner over to NE to trade a vehicle with their dealership. Didn't cost me anything additional for the service.

Long box of course is just on your preference/desires/functionality. If I'm doing any serious hauling, I get a trailer. Otherwise, I don't miss the extra space even after two house remodels, hauling carpet and lumber and flooring around in a short box. I got a vinyl camper top (soft topper/Besttop Supertop) for mine; it folds down and gets out of the way when I need it to, but still keeps cargo covered when I put it up. Best of both worlds...but yeah...those Leers are schweeeeeeeet, too.
