So as I was looking for some good LED's for my buddy's motorcycle I ran into these and they stated they had more output then my current 1800 lumen ones at 2400 output on low beam alone utilizing a new and different style CREE LED chipset. The design also promised a full new plug and play direct WITHOUT a fan and ballast assembly. They were about $70 more or less so I figured why the hell not and purchased them. I just received them about an hour ago and just finished installing them. I have to say install was insanely simple and light output seemed really nice and bright, a little more blue then my previous LED's BUT I'm willing to lose some overcast nighttime visibility (with the addition of extra light output to make up for it) over less moving parts and a whole new design alltogether. The bulbs hue are still a lot less blue then my current off road light bar setups that I have behind the grille and on the bumper though and they match the fog DRL anytime's a little better now.

The only particular challenges I ran into while installing them which I also found took me the longest was initially plugging in the harness to the bulbs (the converter harness which plugs into the vehicle wiring harness, it's a very very tight connection and you will have to push on it pretty hard to get a full secure fit) actually fitting the rubber boot to the bulbs, which also causes you to have to remove the reflector off the base of the bulb, inserting the boot, then coercing the reflector back on. Also the clip itself on the back of the housing base, which I found is a little bit of a bitch to put on once you have the rubber boot on the bulbs. All in all, patience is key. On the passenger side it would help if you removed the bolts to the windshield washer reservoir. The drivers side went in with a little patience and proper aiming, luckily I spared the trouble of having to remove the battery hold down this time, you need to angle in the bulb on the drivers side to get it to go in without additional removal.

Bear in mind that these pictures in no way give an accurate hue of how the lights visually appear, nor how bright they are by no means necessary. I am very pleased with them so far but have yet to drive them at night. Updates will ensue the more I drive with them. I am very impressed with their simplicity, however.

Interested to see night shots. Those beam patterns seem a little weird but, like you said, once you drive at night you'll have a better idea of how they really are.

The more I see these and the more I have my own LEDs, the more I wish I had just ponied up for the full HID retrofit... I like my LED's, they LOOK really bright but their light delivery leaves a lot to be desired... I am not even sure they are better than my factory halogens were.

I agree! Once I properly installed them in though they didn't seem much different beam pattern wise speaking in comparison to my previous LED's. Needless to say they will be collecting dust now and I have no use for them. I'll probably put the old ones up for sale once I get them cleaned up. They served their purpose indefinitely and have much more life left on them.

I noticed they are not horizontally mounted like my previous ones were but are now vertically mounted. After extensive research I found that the best ideal solution when it comes to achieving max light output is to mount them vertically like these are while using some sort of reflector on them. Visually studying them before I bought them, I found that these bulb's were using both aforementioned methods to output their lighting. I also went to my garage and studying my original halogen bulbs and noticed that they also achieve their lighting from positioning the filaments vertically, so their claims cannot be that farfetched.

Instant on, no hesitation upon switching of high's or low's nor initial start up. They are really nice.

If you want HID, in order to properly run them you will have to do a full retrofit. Otherwise you are glaring excessive light at incoming cars which can be very dangerous to both them and yourself. A full retrofit plus HID's setup is very expensive. Not to mention they use a lot more amperage then LED's do.

Additionally, these have more output then previous editions LED's out in the marketplace. Or so they claim. Some night time driving plus shots will soon be the judge of just how much brighter they are then previous editions. You also have to remember that anything over halogen's is much more soothing on the eye's, HID's by far are fantastic for that, even more so though, I have found that LED's are even further soothing on the eye's because the output is more natural.

This is a before and after install comparison from my previous bulbs when I first installed them. Does the left and right output really look the same to you?

eBay. I can post up the link if you guys want to see their page. Shipping took about two weeks, so it was slow needless to say. Though the wait was well worth it.

As requested, night shots! Sorry if they aren't that great. Working night shift keeps me from getting great shots!

I like the price and I'd try them if they were 5000k or under.
I just can't deal with the blue.

For that price I'll stick with the Lifetime LED's. Yes they are more expensive but I've had nothing but good luck out of them so far and I just don't trust eBay.

They are not that blue. Remember, 6000k LED and 6000K HID are two totally different color hues.

like I said there was nothing wrong with the previous ones I had but again. No moving parts and more simplicity. Plus no ballast to potentially burn out. Or to get gunked up and freeze if I'm offroading and mudding.

They look like they don't really throw much light to a usable distance, just like Lifetime LED's.

If I could turn back time, I'd do a quality HID retrofit instead of wasting money on LED bulbs. The technology just isn't there yet at this price point.

Also, the color temperature of LED's is too high. I'd much rather have 4300K.

The lows look like they might be ok...
The highs look out of control.

Retrofit is really the best for any money spent.
Just a pair of Silverstar Ultras are a huge performance gain from OEMs.

I can't really say much because pictures don't justify it for sure. More useable light then halogens. Still much happier with them and their visible clarity over halogens.

    Just a few LEDs...
These look like they only have LED chips on one side.

If this is the case, I can see where there would be a couple of problems.

Halogens have two filaments with the low beam filament shielded on the bottom so it only lights upward in a 180 degree pattern, utilizing only the top half of the reflector.

The high beam filament sits closer to the base of the bulb an illuminates in a 360 degree pattern, utilizing the entire reflector.

If the LEDs on these only face up, they will only use half of the reflector. This looks to be the case in the two shot of the highs and lows from afar.

The lifetime LED bulbs have two emitters which are positioned and oriented very much like the filaments in the halogen bulbs. I have seen another type of LED bulb that does this as well.

LED chips are utilized on both sides of this bulb. There is a total of 4.

2 are used on each bulb for lows, one on each side of the bulb and 2 which are further up are utilized when the highs are engaged. You can see a big difference between low and high when you hit the high beams for sure.

    EDIT:

Just so you can see this is what they look like outside of the package. These are pics taken from sellers of thee bulbs. There are two different versions. One uses only 2 chips per bulb, one on both sides, and the other versions (the one which I have) uses a total of 4 per bulb. Obviously I went with the one which used 4 per bulb.

I thought kelvin scale was an objective/measurable definition......
and doesnt waver, only quality control does.

6000K is 6000K wether a bulb, diode, arc, or heated salts............ meaning manufacturers have to MEET the scale.

Just like an Oz of Widow still weighs the same as an Oz of Barney
