In January of this year I bought a 2013 DC TRD demonstator with 9000 Km's on it. I decided that I would do a full detail on it the other day and while waxing it I discovered some minor body damage above the tailpipe where the box curves down.(In an area of about 7 in. x 10 in.) Found, bondo bubbles , paint overspray in 3 spots, a paint run on the edge of the metal and in the right light the original damage (small elongated dent) is still visible. Actually quite a lousy body work job. I don't know how I have missed it this long. Anyway, I approached the dealership about it. They have no record of the truck ever having any damage even though they originally registered it as a demo on June 1st, 2013. So its always been in their care. The manager that drove it for 7 1/2 months says he never had an accident with it. They will not do anything about it other than to say if it deteriorates or rusts through in the next 5 years they will fix is as per the Toyota Corrosion Warranty. They told me that occasionally units get little dings and such when moving them around and off the trucks . They repair them and the units are sold. I get it- but my point is that a prospective purchaser should be told of this.Someone knows how it got dinged but no one is admitting it. I wrote to Toyota Canada about it and wait for their response. Even as a demo this thing cost me big Canadian bucks and I feel they should repair this properly----or am I making too big a deal about this? Weigh in if you like.

They may claim you did it since it has been 6 months, but I wouldn't be happy.

I would think that a dealer who wants your business would fix it.

There are a lot of Arses out there that would try and pull something like that and blame the dealer, that's probably why he is skeptical.
